250W cooler than 400W???

hey fellows
just a couple of question's. Ive been told that a 250w hps will produce the same heat as a 400w? is this true. and does a grow cupboard have to be completely sealed( air tight) have intake and exhaust but because my doors are roller theres half inch gap between door and shelf cause i seem to be have extreme temp probs if any one can help... HELP ME. cheers

No a 250 is cooler than a 400.

Are you going to be able to make that closet light tight? Close the doors and sit inside it, can you see any light? If you can you need to seal it up so that your ladies won't get light during the 12 hours of lights off.

Yes you need air circulation, at least jus4t moving the air around in thee closet.

Are you going to air cool your lights?

More watts=more heat

common sense.

of course it will give more heat just like saying will 1 250 w give off same heat as 2 !!!!!
