I've been doing some diffrent things. Plant A is getting 24 hrs of light while Plant B is getting 18/6. Plant C is getting 18/6 but i have it next to something that hums. Yes white noise. Anyway....... Is 24 hrs of light a good idea or not. Btw the plants are 4-5 weeks old. I've also noticed that the bottom leaves are falling off and brittle to the touch. I don't over-water and haven't fed them anything like miracle grow in like a week.

Any feedback would be helpful.

Good. As long as it is the kind of light the plant needs Blue wave length.

@4 hour light is fine. I noticed my internode length was a lot better than with 18/6. Also. you might want to start feeding soon. Usually a plant runs out of nitrogen at this age if it hasn't been repotted recently. How are the leaves falling off? are they yellow or completely brown?

Btw what is blue wave length. Im new to all this.

Lights using the blue wave length contain the portion of the light spectrum that plants utilize most for their growth and general life cycle. They do use light from the red spectrum, but a bare minimum of it. You can theoretically grow a plant solely using "red lights", but the plants will be stretched, thin, and emaciated-looking. They struggle just to survive, let alone thrive.

Also, the leaves turning yellow and falling off is natural. It's happened on about 50% of what I've grown in soil (but never in hydro, until the flowering stage). The plant is just sapping energy from the leaves, for one reason or another. They'll yellow, then brown/whiten, and then die. As long as it isn't affecting a good 95% of your fan leaves, you're fine. Just let the plant do what it wants. But keep an eye on it to make sure the plant isn't auto-flowering, and make sure it is confined to the lowest set of foliage.

This is where you gain experience. Observing the plant, and trouble-shooting small problems (and even experiencing the big problems) will teach you more than any grow guide ever could.

I tend to replicate mother nature as best as possible. This means using red and blue light for all stages of growth as well as giving the 6 hours darkness. Don't quote me but I've heard plants use a dark period use the energy that it has been photosynthesizing. That plus the fact that there is always a dark period outside and outdoor plants do just fine lead me to save on the electric bill the other 6 hours a day.
