2012 Outdoor Growlog - NE Ohio

I will be starting my second grow this year. I did one last year and yielded around 5 oz. off of 6 plants varying in sizes, all bagseed(2 6 footer's were stolen aswell) . This year I'm shooting for atleast 10 pounds. Last year was quite the learning experiance for me and I still have a lot to learn.

Sadley I havn't found a way to get my hands on any good strains in ohio so I will be stuck with bagseed from mids once again. If anyone has any suggestions on how to get good strains in ohio I would greatly appreciate some info. I've been looking for clones but can't find any. I know atleast 50% of the results is purely genetics and I won't ever have top shelf bud from bagseed. But I'm still learning so it's all a good experiance for me.

It's March 26th in NE Ohio and I was wondering when I can start putting plants in the ground. It's been very, very warm latley and we've had record highs this month. Annuals are sprouting a month early around here but I still see a frost or 2 later on this week. I don't have the lights to start them inside or I would have started vegging a month ago. It's still not even April 1st yet though and I didn't start til early May last year so I should still have a month head start over last year which I'm hoping will greatly improve my results. I appreciate any feedback and reccomendations offered and look forward to another fun year growing with everyone on these forums, you all were a great help to me last year.:weed:

Online seed banks will ship seeds discreetly to Ohio. If they don't make it through customs, I'm pretty sure they will refund or ship you more.

I would suggest using another address, but if you can't, I'm sure you'll be fine using your own.

Also putting your plants out too early might promote early flowering, which would force your plants into reveg once the days get longer. Check the sunrise and sunset of your zip code to make sure you're over the 12 on - 12 off cycle and then plant.

thanks for the quick feedback, any suggestions on what websites to use? And can i use a pre-paid credit card or something to pay for them where they can't track my name? I'm on probation for a dui so I want to do it as discreetly as possible. I've heard of people using a po box but from what it sounds like i don't have to go to those extremes. appreciate the tip on the light schedule too

and MJ i would have done that already but I don't have an indoor setup to start any. That would be ideal so I wouldn't have to worry about males and just throw clones out there. I tried to cut some clones from my plants last year before I harvested but they were too far into flowering and never reverted back to veg, even after being on 18-6 for 3 weeks.

sounds awesome. may be scrapping the bagseed idea after all. I'll throw the 20 or so i have out there for the hell of it but I got my experimental grow done now I want to get into the good stuff ha. any reccomendations on some good outdoor strains? I want the best results possible and as little maintaing as possible. Obviously they all need some TLC but I've heard some strains do better than others outdoors and can be less needy.

Well Northern Lights Blue will do great. That strain is pretty forgiving. Also my friend had good results with Kali Mist last year outdoors in Ohio.

As for the bagseed, keep in mind if you take care of those plants they will be much better than the pot they came in.

yes i learned that from last years grow. I had great results, though my yield was low the bud was high quality for being bagseed. I want to try a few things different this year though, I had a dehumidifier in my room when i dried my buds and they dried super fast(1-2) days but i heard it ruins teh taste. I also used blackstrap molasses and superthrive often with bat guano, but I feel like the molasses effected the taste aswell. It had a nasty smell to it at first but then you cracked the bud open and it was heaven. I also may have fucked up storing them in old mason jars i found in my basement, i have no idea what they were used for before i cured in them but even after washing them out several times there was still a putrid smell coming from the best plant i had. it was almost gagging, and i switched to a rubber maid container but the damage had already been done. it was bizarre. needless to say I'm going to be curing in new tupper ware containers this year to avoid that problem. I just don't know if the molasses had something to do with it also because that shit just smells terrible, and you would think sugar would effect the taste of the bud sop i have mixed feelings now. I can say my buddy didn't use any at all and he is a year ahead of me on experiance and my buds blew his out of the water potency and trichome wise.
