2010 Semi-Stealth Cabinet Grow (8 Plants)

Okay guys this is my first official Grow Journal. Ill try too add as much information as possible.

The strain ill be using is unknown just some good bagseed.. So far 7 are in the pots and one seed is still waiting on germinating.

Of course Suggestions/criticism is VERY appreciated..

Heres my setup

400Watt HPS - Ill be using this for veg/flower
AC system - Ill be using this too cool my grow cabinet as well as give my ladys fresh air.
6" 160 CFM Exhaust ( The ones from htgsupply)
Can 33 Carbon Filter

Nutrients/Soil/Ph
Foxfarm Growbig/Tiger Bloom/Big Bloom
Foxfarm Ocean Forest mixed with some perlite
Too test my Ph Levels im going too use those Liquid PH Drops

Grow Cabinet Specs
1'4" width 3'6" height 2'3" length
Caulked all the edges and holes i made. Then i sprayed painted the inside a flat white color. The door kinda just sticks right in there. The cabinet is uneven from the top so thats what kinda keeps it sturdy. I was having a very hard time trying find a good way too open/close it shut. So i just said F haha

Right now my Lights/Ac is running 24/7 too give my little seedlings an extra boost but also because my cabinet still has some light leaks. I fixed SOME of them but its still an issue. Ill most likely get a tick fabric and seal it. I read a post here on RIU too seal it like a "T" Pretty much like those paper cubes if anyone has ever made them

You guys have no idea how much of a pain it was too put this duct with my ac.. Im talking duct tape... LOTS of duct tape... The cool air doesn't help neither! Slowly the air lifts up the tape until it eventually would just fall off.. So far it seems to be holding up tho.. And it keeps my grow cabinet at a cool 70 Degrees

I havnt hooked up my exhaust fan correctly to my Carbon filter yet.. but thats not a major problem since im not in flowering yet... Plus its helping keep my room nice and fresh.. (I live in Cali its very hot outside right now... BUT not my room

and the last picture... well...... SOUND CONTROL! haha (I guess the pictures came out backwards so its really the first picture lol)

Day 1
7 Germinated seeds are in the pots.
Gave them a little bit of distilled water.
-- PH 6.5
Lights 24/7

Day 3
All 8 have sprouted and look so far healthy. They still on 24/7 Lighting which will end today. Switching too 18/6

Day 5
Somekinda look like they stretched out a bit so a lowered my HPS its now about 20" Away..
Funny story about the lil girl in the square (pic) When all the seedlings had already sprouted she was too but she still had the seed stuck on her which prevented her from growing.. I left it thinking it was going to naturally fall off.. it didnt so i had to remove the seed from it.. Thats why its a lot smaller than the rest

eh a 1000watt hps would be nice maybe a bigger carbon filter more fans... haha thanks man i appreciate it

I just checked my growroom and i just seen the biggest spider just chillin at the top haha

spiders eat small pests, they aren't bad for you.

Week 1
My ladies are looking good. Except for that one plant that has been growing slowly but i think she should pick up soon. (The last pic is the stunted growth plant)
Temps are staying at between 77-80
They are about 1 1/2" - 2" Tall

The one in the fourth picture looks overwatered a bit, beside that your doing great


Whatever scare \ disgust you is what the agriculture companies take your money for

Eh ill just leave that baby to sit under the nice sunny hps and warm up a bit

Major update, ive moved my plants too a closet and will be using the cabinet for a clone setup in the future. I Think its better this way, ill have more space during flowering.. The downside is well since its a bigger room the temperature has gone up (Still in the comfort zone) but i want to control it better. Ill Probably LST them a little bit and expect to start flowering soon.

bigger rooms are easier to maintain cool :S
There's more space for air flow and cooling devices. You just need a bigger exhaust vent.

When your training your plants and creating a dense canopy mold and rot become an issue. When you see there's ain't much airflow inside the canopy be ready to add some revolving \ industrial fan blowing air on them.
It does wonders.

So a good airflow will prevent mold and rot?

Yes. The mold spores will not attach to the plants. Rot needs high humidity to start and good airflow lowers humidity.

I keep my rooms highly ventilated (130cfm for ~7 cubic feet right now, ON 24\7) and I really like the results compared to when I used less ventilation.
I use just one vent to do all the work - air comes through a passive lightproof intake to the bottom right of the room. Then it is sucked through a glass cylinder which holds my CFL out of the closet. Later on a carbon filter will be added before the glass cylinder intake to prevent smells.
The airflow from all that movement creates enough "wind" for the plants to dance gently.

When I ran my bigger tent (around 4 cubic meters, 40 cubic feet) I had a 380cfm vent sucking air out through and it didn't made the plants move so I ran another intake 130cfm vent blowing on them (from above while the airflow reaches the bottom well before sucked back up) and a 16" revolving fan or a 20" industrial fan matched to the stage of the plants.

As I live in a hot and humid climate I always fight the heat, so thats probably a thing to consider as well. Ambient temps are a big factor.
If its 0°C outside you should probably only run a small exhaust vent just to replace air a bit and a 14" revolving fan in a 4cubicmeters room.
