I know the leaves are curling up, why is this though??

Also the first one is leaning a little bit.

Both bag seed, both in FF Ocean Forest.. use tap water left out for 24 hours... they're under 3 24w CFLs and 1 48w 2700k (I know its the wrong color spectrum for veg, but its all I have until my HPS/MH and ballast come in the mail)

Anyway, any pointers?

Damn, I have 2 seedlings that are just over 2 weeks old and don't look anywhere near that good
Ofcourse, they're in generic potting soil and under 2 13w and 1 23w cfls

what a difference

Most people wont agree with me here but I say ditch the MH and go straight CFL for your veg then use HPS for flowering. I honestly havnt noticed much different during veg between my 1000w MH and my 4 75w CFL'S. I like CFL for veg better because almost no heat and you can get within inches of your plants to keep em from stretching.

They look really great for 2 weeks from seed, the upward curling could be from some heat or light stress. How hot is it near the leaves? and how close are the lights?
You might also be seeing some signs of pH stress. If your using straight tap water your going to want to consider buying a pH meter and pHing your water.

But the plants looks great for 2 weeks from seed. Keep up the good work.

HAHA YES I HAVE!!! not only that but I had a 6 inch duct from my AC vent going to my light and had to have my AC running constantly just to get my temps down to 88F vs 123F!!!

The curling is nutes no need for Ph meter in soil for sure FF.Soil is a good buffer and it also has dolomite lime.If your water is safe to drink its good for your plants.!

Lights are about 4-5 inches away. I have the area covered in ghetto mylar (emergency blankets lol), and the temp is about 84-88 throughout the day. I'm thinking it's too hot and I should get it down to 75-80 but its hard in the small area I'm working in at the moment... any suggestions on how to lower it without losing light? I have a fan in this, and I keep the cabinet door cracked but its only cools it partially.

Those temps will be fine man I wouldn't worry about it. Yes its not the plants preferred temperatures but they will grow just fine. When I first got my 1000w lights they were in the first week of flowering and flowered with temps of 93-98F for 4 weeks I wasnt happy about it and since have fixed said issue but the plants grew just fine. Right now my night temps drop 75-78F and day time temps are 82-85F

Lights on i'm at 82-86, Lights off 77-82. Like scuba said above, you should be fine. Good job with the mylar, emergency blankets work, better than nothing and they are cheap!
