2 weeks in and dying of deficiency

*Can anybody identify this problem?

I'm growing a lowrider autoflowering strain. Its under a 400w hps about 18 inches away from the plant, I'm using flower grow serious 10ml, 7.5ml, 2.5ml to thegallon in a 4 gallon tank with 3 other plants. I have running on a constant drip system(roots haven't reached water yet) I was thinking it could be nutrient burn because of the tips, but does the leaves yellow like that or is it natural? First time grower. I shut of the drip and flushed my medium to check for nutrient burn but doesn't look like anythings changed. Thank you for your input..

It is usual cal/mag and lack of Nitrogen, I think. I concocted a spray of high N, lawn food, with Iron at 150 ppm, with a wetting agent.

I saw that just about every time. It looks like you have a bit of overwatering too. It all goes together. Did you do like me, and not get a root ball first? All goes together, I think, like this.

The new plant doesn't need much, but needs some. But, we need to get those roots down. So we want to water from the top to support that. But, even hydroton holds too much water if there is no root ball. So, we can't feed much because of that. I see they need more food than I can give them in the feed water. No roots yet. Catch-22.

So, two things for me. 1) no matter what you do later, get roots in that medium first. I have seen nice root balls in hydroton. Just start in small cup with no drain, but some cal/mag water at the bottom. Wet your hydroton in the same water. And plant in no more than a 8 oz cup.

Water again only if they begin to wilt slightly. That forces roots to go on the hunt. After 9 or 10 days you will have a nice root ball to feed, that will be sturdy and ready to grow down into the water.

It is like giving a head start.
