WHats up RIU. This is my second indoor grow, the first was a disaster, so ima need some experience growers help.. I kinda started this late im already 32 days into veg on one and 20 on the other..... I just recently transferred these two babys to new potsm, and they are finally starting to take off. The one on the right has a unusual leave pattern n growth, but im leavin it to see how it turs out.... I kinda got a problem with my older one the bottom 2 leaves are turning way yellow.... This happened with the first 2 petioles and the first set of true leave, but they fell off. What is causing this? I figured it a lack of nutes so i hit it wit some 2 days ago and again today..... any help from experienced growers would be helpful and really appreciated... The upper leave also look like their starting to curl, but not to bad.. Thanks Yall

Hey sorry to hear about your first grow, shit happens.

Before anyone can diagnose your problem we need a little more info. What is the PH? Temp? Type of soil?

I see you are using incadecent flood lights. Incadecent bulbs are the worst type to use for growing.

It may cost a few $$$, but a good light and ph meter are crucial to plant success

Edit: Here is something I found from a stickie
Approximate light production:
Incandescents: 17 lumens/watt
Mercury vapor: 45-50 lumens/watt
Fluorescents: 60-70 lumens/watt
Metal halide: 90 lumens/watt
High pressure sodium: 107 lumens/watt

Thanks for the post bigtomatofarmer, sorry my first post was so short n not alot of info. The lights im using arent incadecent, im actually using some Tri-band LED bulbs that have 180 bulbs per ligt. It has like 100 red spectrum n bout 70 blue spectrum per light. I think they would do real good as sumpliment lightning, but untll i can get hps itll have to be primary. I also have a 2ft fluorescent ligt bulb thats either the warm or cool, not quite sure. I dont have a ph meter, but i do have th ph strips i can test only the watr i put in wich i keep around 6.5. The Temp averages around 75 but has gotten up to 80 a couple of times and dwn to 65 but for the most part stays in 70-78 Degrees. I do plan on gettin a hps light with a mh conersion once i can afford it, but im a young broke stoner that wastes his money on weeds lol. that pop bottle in there is yeast n sugar in watr i rplace bout everyweek for CO2. I have some nutes thats about 5-5-3 ratio. i dont know what else u want to know so if got any question on my set up just ask. As for the yellowing... any ideas?

I've heard they're shit cmpared to hps and ive heard their really good, but i seen some LED grows on here that were THE SHIT lol so idk... thts why i think itd be good supplement with a hps... they're growing beautifully except for the yelowing on the lower leaves of my older one

hey man nice name, i have heard mixed reviews about led but i think you need more blue spectrum for veg and more red for flower.........i would ditch the led and throw in cfls, you want the cool for veg and warm for flower, my last grow i did it all with cool and it worked just fine, just remember don't stress to much about it and have fun

Here is an update on the grow. As you can

see i continued the LST on th big one.

The small one is kinda messed up cuz my

thermometer fell over on it n bent it, but i

hope it works out. I added a heater to keep

temps at 75 cuz its gettin real cold.

the yellowing hasnt progressed to any other leaves so

i think the nutes i added helped it.

I replaced the fluorescent strip that i spilt

water on. it was only out of the box for

about 2 days lettin it dry. Heres some new

pics i took marcy out so u could get a better look at the lst n just a better look all around.
Temps been a lil high reachin a peak of 81 in the day but stays at 75 at night, thanks to the heater yayayyyay....

Give it some time, more people will follow. Marcy and Christina are looking good, but they should be a tad bigger at this point. Im thinking its either because of ph or not enough light. I wuold reccomend getting more light asap. Even if its just a few cfl's around the side or something. And I wouldnt trust the ph strips. Pick up some chemical testing solution. Heres a pic of what I use....

Good luck bro, Ill be along for the ride. Ask any questions you have

Yo Bigtomato, thanks for the tip... I just went tonigh and picked up sme 2700 k soft white 26w cfls a 6 pack, but i broke one opening it up so i could wire straight to the ballast. O well 13 bucks fo a 6 pak was good deal. I put those in tonight parellell tothe LEDS. Remember i got Marcy ( older) doin some LST (just playin around w/ it). Christina looks like an indica or sativa cuz it bushy (i forget wich is the shorter bushier one). It also had the thermometer fall over on it. Ill nver be that wreckless again though. The pics suck cuz all i have is a camera phone, but im borrowin the gfs digital so in a few days ill have prime pics. I think they're so small though cuz i had them in tiny tiny pots till like 4 weeks of veg. IDK though. Thanks for pullin up i could use your experience.Well let me know what other info to supply. O and where did u pick up that ph tester? Thanks bro! Ill have pics up tomorro. My dog broke my laptop screen so its kinda a bitch workin on it.

So the plants are looking healthy, but i just found out today that the ladybugs that are in there might not be lady bugs. Since most Oklahoman bugs are japanese flying beetles. Should i remove them cuz theres not many?

The wires were all spread out to so i staled them all down. :hump: I broke open two of the lights you can see in pics it looks nice. I think theyll really take off now. I can see theyre liking it and perking up real nice..... I got to run, but just wantd to get the pics up. more info to come SORRY.. PEACE RUI:peace:

Hey man, not doing too bad, I'd just like to point out a few things for ya
-you should put your lights as clost to your plants as possible. Cfl's don't give off much heat so you can put them 2-3 inches away from you plants as well as your led.
-You should also get the other cfls, looks like you got the warm ones and not the daylight ones, the 2700k....they put out whitish/blue spectrom.
-For your lst, you should bend the top right over almost parallel with the stem like a 180 or as close as you can to that to stimmulate shoots, right now (no offence intended at all, just trying to help) you are just making your plant crooked and is still growing straight up.
But looking pretty healthy, 'cept a little nut burn. Only use 1/4 of what the directions say on the bottle and gradually increase to full amount.
By the way, do you know what stain they are? How long do you plan to veg them?
Keep it green

here's a couple pix of my lst, they're at 4 weeks, I guess it don't really show the lst that well but you can see the string, and get the idea, they have REALLY REALL close nodes so they're almost too bushy.
The bigger one is a mom I cloned off for 3 grows, she is honey dew
Hope this helps a little
