:eyesmoke: ive got 2 plants ive just harvested. not very big just small bushy things. im drying them out right now its been 2 days and no smell to them at all.. im just worried they will not taste good, they smelled like berries when they were under the sun(5 23watt cfls above each). they were 9 weeks into flowering when i harvested them. trichomes were milky cant really see any amber.

when should i put them in jar>?? they are already pretty dry suprislying, i did have them near a fan but not blowing directly on them..:peace::peace:bongsmilie

Give it a little bit. It is a process man... Do not jar them until they are nearly dry or you can cause mold.

yah, they more than likely still have that green smell to them that all freshly cut herb has to it.. it takes a good two or three weeks in jars till they start to get their final smells..
i like to let my buds hang for around three or four days before i put them into jars.. a lot of people will say wait till the stems of the buds snap rather than bend before you put them into jars, but i find this to be to dry for my tastes..
i like to jar them a lil sooner than others, but i keep a keen eye on them once in the jar, and sometimes even leave the lid off for the first two or so days, before putting them on and than opening them several times a day and even dumping the buds out and rearranging them in the jars..
i find that the smell usually takes any where from two to three weeks in jars to be proper, and even then, the longer in the jars the better the smell will be..

Everything said above is true BUT what are your drying conditions? If your buds dry out to fast that Hay smell will stay in the Buds. My Drying room is not near to perfect yet so when my buds get basically dry i jar them a little early and just open the jars more often and longer to keep mold away. Next run i will be trying the Paper Bag step before jarring. Also next harvest im going to try a humidifier or something to get the RH up a little its 20 at the highest in my Drying Room Good luck bro

If you arent sure, put them into a jar overnight. Check in the AM, if they are wet again put them back into dry. If they arent leave them in the jars and check them daily.

Once that hay smell from over drying gets in there its hard to get out.

I grew some bagseed that never had any smell until had been in a jar for a couple weeks and even then it smellled weird, not bad, just not weed-y...it smoked alright though...also weird...but good...so good strange...anyway some plants just dont' have too much of a smell...I'm growing one now that smells like oranges....makes me wanna eat a leaf everytime I get near it...just can't wait and I still have a long time to go...wanted to wait until it was about a foot high to start flowering...and it's still only 3 in...don't think imma wait too much longer anyway...going to wait long enough to take some clones, and then see where to go from there....probably go ahead and switch to 12/12 with the original plant and then veg the clones a bit more...so on and so forth...

so true, when I let mine dry in my room with the a/c on, they turn out perfect, if I hang them in a closet, they dry to fast and become airy and lose all there goodness
