1st time making bubble hash

Whats up everyone?!?! I made some bubble hash with the 5-gallon 5 screen bubble bags for the first time, it was a lot of fun! The only thing was that when we smoked it the hash didn't bubble. we kind of rushed the drying by pressing it with a napkin until it was dry. I heard just leave it for a couple hours on some cardboard or something. We just got exited and wanted to smoke it all quick. Anyone know what I can do next time? Thanks
