1st time grower...any feedback appreciated

Hey everyone,

so this is my first grow. my space is about 2 feet deep 5 feet wide and close to 6 ft tall. I am currently using a 400w MH bulb and my plants seem to be liking it and currently it is about 18" from the tallest plant. Temps stay around 80-84 and my rH is usually around 30 give or take a couple percent. I fed them their 1st set of nutes on the 1st of feb and then again on sunday. Now it appears there may be some burn on my tips but I am not 100% I also don't have any pH strips or meter. Today they were very dry but because of the slight discoloration I just fed Natural spring water with no nutes. Also my leaves are a bit droopy which from what I have read is due to improper pH balance. Is this a big concern or just helpful for producing even better buds!? It seems with my low humidity and heat that i have to water just about every other day (bone dry a cpl inches down). So I guess I am just looking to hear what you guys have to say. Anything that might help my first grow would be great! Thanks!

They r lookin good so far my friend. U said ur temp is about 80-85 degrees? I don't know If u can but try putting a fan or 2 in somewhere ideal temp for me is like 71-76 keeps em' perky so 2 speak. GL :bigjoint:

still newb here thought I replied... Anyway So yeah I have 2 fans in their but 80 is about the lowest i can usually get them. I do however have an adjustable ballast. Right now i have it 100% but it can go to 75 or 50%. Wondering if maybe switching to a lower setting and then lowering the light will help lower the heat without significant light loss. any suggestions?

Consider getting a pH meter. Proper pH for water (and soil) is a fundamental for good growing.

Are you in a closet or what?
I am doing a closet right now, and try not to get above 80, and I run my lights at night to help, but a 6" desk fan above the lights is what I always run, and if temps start to go up, I start up a 12" fan on the floor pointing up from outside pointed in with the door cracked to blow the hot air from the top out.

I had high pH with my tap water, its easy to correct though. I got a pH kit for under 20 bucks and everything is aye ok now. I noticed a huge improvement with my girls since I got my pH dialed in. What strain do you have look very similar to mine?

They came from a Trainwreck Sourdiesel hybrid from what I can tell. Got a bag from there and the buds all spit out quite a few seeds so I assume it was hermaphrodite. I was very disappointed at first being I got from a MMJ store but seems to have been a blessing in disguise ;). Where did you get your kit from? was it for the soil or testing your water? Thanks for feedback

Yes Bak I am in a closet with sliding doors. Anybody have thoughts on dimming the light and moving it closer? or does this sacrifice too much light at this point?

I got mine at the hydro store by me. Its a water tester. Its has the tester and the pH up and down to adjust your pH levels, real simple and easy to use.
