1st time grow problem

hey this is my first grow. i've got this problem where the plant is doing well, and then i come home a couple hours later to find the seedling wilted over touching the soil, and the stem has thinned out so much that it gets top heavy. Like if you were making a snake out of play-doh and you keep rolling it out between your hands and eventually the center gets really thin. thats really the best way i can put it. i also have a small amount of vegetables and this same problem keeps happening to them but i grow these outside when its sunny. I'm using two 40w fluorescent lights for 4 plants with miracle grow and no nutrients right now except mycorrhizae mix for root grow. I water them every time my moisture meter tells me i need to but typically every 6-7 days. The ph is from about 6.5-7.1 ish. i have them on 18/6 lighting, any suggestions? i've looked around the forums for a while but haven't really been able to find anything on it

adjust your ph to 6.1 to 6.5. get higher wattage light. put it closer to plants. i don't trust water meters. just stick your finger in the dirt if the first couple inches are dry then water. don't over water.since you are using mg soil.mushrooms will start poppin up. tear those out.
