1st time grow HELLP PLZ!!!!!

Hey guys im growing for my first time and i was replanting my 8week old plant from its 1 gallon pot to a 5 gallon pot. and i noticed that i had hardly any roots on my plant. so i was wondering is it normal to have 4 inch root and bushing out about 3 inches for a 8week old plant. im growing 1 plant 100 watt hps and 4X11 watt cfl. there is another problem with it it is very tall and has hardly any leavs but that is because i used 2 cfls and i added my hps yesterday. also the two tops are new ant thy just started to come and there drooping quiete abit i think its over watering tho.
thanks guys

He just added the HPS and there is nothing wrong with using a HPS in veg.:wall: My avatar speaks for itself using a HPS for veg imo.
That is not the issue. You need at least a 400w spectrum for vegging. That's why its tall and slim with hardly any leafs. Its searching for the light but is not being told to produce.

If you added the hps the plants will start to leaf up, just take good care of it from here on out, make sure you have a steady system set up and it should be fine.

cfl and i am still veging
like I said before, blame your lights. You don't have enough lumens for veg, like that dude said thats why there growing crappy. you get what you put into it, what's the kelvin of your cfl? How many cfl's in veg.

and yah you can veg with a HPS, and I can problly drive a car with my eyes closed. doesn't mean it's a good idea. :))

But my7 friend used 2 15 watt cfls and one incadecent bulb for veg and a 100 watt hps for flowering and his turned out just fine

i get bomb ass results when i use my 150 w hps for veg and my 600 w hps for flower they say mixed spectrum is best but honestly it dont matter different person different skill set everyone grows differently in some way droopy leaves are usaully from over watering or i seen it happen on different temps or high humidity...
