1st Time "DIY" AeroPonics / Water ??????

The popular timing for aero seems to be 1 min on 4 min off using a cycle timer. Cheap
ones can be found on ebay here http://cgi.ebay.com/Repeat-Timer-Fixed-40min-Cycle-Timer-Aero-Hydroponics-/220692718630?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33624fa426

24/7 works fine too, but a lot of times the pump can warm the reservoir up to undesirable
temperatures. You can also get away with things like 5/5 or any variation really.

Eventually the roots will be sitting in the reservoir so timings might become less and less
critical as it will eventually turn into a pseudo dwc.

eventually yes the roots might be sitting in the water, I've seen systems with a screen in place to keep the roots from sitting in the water, I may try this but I don't know why I would. I do go with 1 on 4 off myself in aerospring but before I got a cycle timer I went always on. I don't see any difference, some say just go with simple little shitty dwc buckets but I prefer to go one step further and spray those roots, makes a big difference in my opinion. I use a c.a.p. recylce timer and can pretty much set whatever I think are proper on off times, good luck and happy growing. Afterthought, massive amounts of O2 pumped in plus the sprayers and you won't go wrong other than temps, insulated res is the way to go, igloo coolers rule.
