Not sure why people are telling you to chop. Pick out the rot and let those flowers ripen. The pistils should appear to become engulfed. The bud will swell more and smell more.

those came out great lol. I grew the peppers and was showing mom I made her some poppers I was bringing over for dinner

Nice. I did peppers this year for the first time. Didn't do Jalapenos but did do two 'habanero' varieties, two Aji's, a Manzano & poblanos. Next year I'll start them earlier since they're really ripening most effectively right now and it's a race to the frost. But I did make one batch of peach habanero jam and I'm going to do a lemon marmalade aji as well as a Caribbean 'down home' habanero sauce. I think the tent will be doing double duty towards the edges.

I grew some chocolate habs one year and made some jerk seasoning and sauce. If you can find some, they are definately worth growing.. Much different flavor than the spanish reds and regular orange ones

Farmstand on the way home from work has quarts of chocolate habaneros for 3$. I haven't bought any because I'm hoping my Tobago Treasure and Goats fill the void. But maybe I'll grab some anyway.
