1st harvest, Cfl's Purple diesel and blue dream

hey all!!!

I'm super excited even with all the problems I've had with these girls being Nute locked and all to say i harvested my 1st female last night. i have 3 plants that were flowering under 150watt 2700k Cfl's.... the one that i harvested was a purple diesel bag seed.....the other 2 i was told were some Blue Dreams. i think i locked out some Zinc or Iron due to frequent watering( i'm a noob).this one was 6 and a half weeks from switching to 12/12. i chopped it cause she started showing some banana's....but still i felt like a kid on christmas morning....

sorry the pictures aren't great from the harvest....i was to anxious to grab my good camera so the iphone had to do....i will take better pictures be4 those nugs go into jars.

my 2 blue dream's i'm going to let go about 2-3 more weeks.... I'm harvesting different weeks to see the effects of harvesting at different stages of growth.

here some pictures i'm proud of....hopefully next grow i have healthy dense giant cola's!!!

in the one picture you could see the purple hairs....i think thats sooo freaking cool to see-lol.

Absolutely beautiful man. That looks like some heavy shit. Good shit dude, really good shit. If my second one goes like this I'll be very happy. You should consider getting a HPS for flowering man. Get those buds tighter and denser.

How much weight was that purple diesel? Looks really good for cfls how many did you need?

thanks a lot guys appreciate the good words....i havent got myself a scale so i don't know the weight yet. but i'm curious my self. unfortunately due to money and heat issues in my grow area CFL's are my best best at growing right now. one day I'll get the right lighting sources, but for now i can't complain. even with a deficiency these things packed on some weight.

I vegged for 4 weeks from seed under 4, 100 watt equivalent 5000k cfl's

then for flower i switched to 4, 150 watt equivalent 2700k cfl's total of 11,000 lumens

Nice work, smoke might be kind of harsh on the diesel, since you only flowered it like 6 and 1/2 weeks, I know you said you were concerned but you still should have waited a bit longer in my opinion. You'll see how much bigger your other ones will get when they are ready. What you really need to tell is a 30X or better microscope to see when the trichomes turn, thats when its ready. Still though, i know for a first harvest its hard to be patient so congrats. Let us know how much you end up with dry and post some pics! +rep

Do what ya can man. Just keep that shit up. You can really see the density in the 3rd pic. Regardless of any problems you had, that's some beautiful bud.

thanks a lot for the +rep and good words!!! i know i should have waited but for my first grow i really wanted to harvest all buds without seeds....and with all the banana's i started to see pop up i did get alittle "snippy" if you know what i mean

one of the blue dreams has banana's too...and i am afraid to leave her in there with the other girl that has the purple hairs. what to do, what to do....

If it was me, Id let it go man. Those suckers are almost done. It's not likely at all to pollinate the other ladies. Are you going to be curing it?

Yes my plans are to try and properly slow dry and cure the buds. I bought the jars yesterday. If the banana's happen to drop some pollen can seeds pop up during the cure process? I'm going to try and hold off as long as I can with that one.

well in that case I'll leave both girls to get nice and ripe....if i notice any banana's popped then I'll chop, chop, chop!!

Yea, at this late stage though dont chop to early, even if you get a little pollen in a nug, it won't develop more then a few seeds and if nothing else, then you got 5-10 seeds to store for next time! But it shouldn't ruin the buds. Your buds are far enough along that they should be good.

Awesome stuff man thanks for the info.... I hope even with the deficiencey that these girls plump up a bit more within then next few weeks.

okay so i after harvesting the purple diesel early due to some banana's i only ended up with a 1/4 ounce of smoke-able bud..... but for my first ever harvest and the nute lockout's i've been dealing with i couldn't be happier....

plus i still have those 2 blue dreams to go still

here's some pics of the early purple diesel going in for curing...she was just starting to really show signs of turning purple too....next time i guess.

not always so! the pollen can out live the plant by four to five days
