Hey there..

firsts grow this year. growing 15 plants...all seeds from bags. My 3 biggest were lucky and were female. I think they are mostly female, but having a hard time sexing whether its is a male or not?

I have my three biggest and best girls in 5 gallon pots, and I have two slightly smaller plants in 3 gallon pots. I have topped them today. They are the two medium size brown pots.

The three big girls have been 12/12 for 3 weeks and now put them in the woods. They thre of them are budding, and one of the big girls I have LST 2 days ago to bush it out and help with yield.

Thhe other five are in the ground, and I have two smaller ones in small green pots. (see all pics attached)

I have been using FloraBloom, FloraMicro and FloraGro nutes for about a month, both with potted and in ground plants.

So hoping these girls grow big and strong and yield me something nive. I would love to hear any comments, suggestions, and advice.

Peace!

Nice looking bagseed!!! I love bagseed! VERY healthy looking hoes. Figure at least two to three ounces per plant, and that is a very conservative guesstimate. I had a six foot indica dominant bagseed last year who gave me three to four ounces of fine bud! Pink haired, licorice smelling buds! Keep doing what you are doing and they will reward you. One thing I do is only nute when they start to look like they need it! Just my two cents, great job so far and good luck!!

Thanks bro! I am thinking of buying some seeds next year to see the difference, but it is cool to grow bag weed and find out what you get. Kinda like Forrest Gump and his box of chocolates.

If I could get anywhere near a couple of oz. with these plants I would be stooked!! I am anxious now to see these girls get flowering/budding so I can start see the colas get growing.

I am having doubts on some of my smaller girls...whether they are females or not. I know how to sex females...but is there a tell tale sign that a plant is a male?

Thanks again for your reply and comments....I can use all the comments I can get.

well...of the 15 plants I having growing I dont see pollen balls forming at the nodes at all. Is it impossible to plant 15 seeds from various bags, and not have one male? Lucky I guess.

One question I do have...some of my plants are only a couple feet (maybe) high. Will these flower and bud as well (just not as much yield I assume)?

What is the diff between flowering and budding, or is that one in the same?

Also, is there a way I can acelreate some of my smaller plants to bud so I can 'sample'? is it just 12/12 the plant? If so, how long?

I've been lucky with bagseed too, only one male out of 7 and it was topped/stressed/transplanted. The smaller hoes will stretch while budding, double or triple their size, don't worry they will be fine. Flowering and budding can be used interchangeably, mean the same to me. As far as accelerating the process, if they are outside they are starting already, you will begin to see small hairs protruding. The light/dark cycle is very close to 12/12 already, they start based on their genetics, mine started two weeks ago, the tall sativa was last to start. Just be patient, let them finish, will be around the 2nd or 3rd week of october, also dependent on the genetics. My huge sativa will have to stay out as long as possible until the first snow. Alot of newbs screw with the plants too much and they get stressed, it's a weed, it will grow and bud if you water her and give her nutrients. Give a solution higher in phosphorous, read the grow FAQ's here on this site. Toom much nitrogen during budding is not good. Just let them do their thing and you will be rewarded. They can handle some frost, a hard freeze is not good. You can always cover them at night with a sheet if their is going to be a hard frost. Hope all this helps, read the grow faq's and you will be fine. Picking bud too early is not worth it, it won't get you stoned as well as waiting until they are finished. Peace!

dunkin, thanks for the comments and pointers. good stuff, much appreicated. Im giving them nutes, (combo of FloraBloom and FloraMicro). Seems to be getting them moving, although still not as bushy or sprawling like I see some plants on this site. The three big plants I started 12/12 with them a month ago, so I kick started thme into flowering....all others have shown no signs of flowering yet. What are pre-flowering signs (if any)?

Thanks again for comments...I will post pics of the girls on Sat night with an update.

The plants you see that are bushy were topped when they were just babies, or LST'd, and also they are in the ground! When you grow in buckets and do not prune you get a longer, taller plant with a big main cola, just the way I like! Pre-flowers are 2 very small hairs which you see in the internodal space, the space between the new growth and it's stem. They will protrude from what looks like a small sac (NOT BALLs). The small sac is very small, nothing like the balls which spring forth from a male, there are pictures on tutorials on this site, just have to find em. Look with a reading glass, you will see hairlike projections in the internodal space, this will tell you it's female. Try to get some closeups and I can help, remember males show balls first, don't pull any until you are sure they are male. Peace

ill take closeups today.

i have also noticed the plants that hae been grwing out of ground, and not pots are stretched...lots of space between nodes. Plants that I 12/12 for a month are still in pots and are much bushier/flowering.

i just got a new seed from some nice stuff. thinking of sprouting it and seeing if I have enuff time to get anything out of it (have a small grow light inside if worse comes toe worse)...hmmmm...what to do, what to do...

Hey bro..ive attached a couple closeups...I think I found my first male. Is there ANY WAY of smaoking a male plant....I want to make sure before i destroy it.

Ive attached my three main girls and the other 4 where I have them sitting. The two in the medium brown pots I have topped about 4 days ago. The one big girl I have LSTd about 4 days ago, and the other two, Im letting go. I think i have some nice flowering...just want to see these colas start growing hardcore. I am using FloraBloom and FloraMicro together as nutes.

take a look at the pics...let me know what u think?

your plants look great but if i were you i'd spread them out and paint the pots with green, black, and brown spray paint to camoflauge them. I have choppers and planes flying over my house all the time so i take extra precautions.

So, sorry for the delays in updating. Plants are growing great, and I thought I had been lucking out that I had all females. I think I was wrong. I need some help.

Ive posted the pics on this reply. the boy1, boy2, boy3, boy4, boy5 pics are just that...what I think are boys. please let m eknow your thoughts. my biggest girl, and she is planted in the ground, not a pot, looks like its a he. let me knwo what you think.

I have also posted pics of my three bigger plants that I 12/12'd for about 4 weeks and then put them out in nature to let mothernature do her thing. Take a look at the pics called weird leaves and weird leaves 2. Can anyone tell me why the leaves are growing this way, and if they are going to affect yield.

I have been using FloraGrow and FloraBloom for the plants that are vegging and blooming (the ones I 12/12'd). I switched to Fox Farms two weeks ago.

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks for looking...

so obviously there is nothing to smoke on a male plant, but what the heck can I do with it? cannabutter? hash?

thanks for the replies. Will keep posting updates when worth it.

:shock:ok...so i wanted to update my grow, since alot has gone on here in southern New England. We have had three full dyas of rain, and it is gettin cooler. sundown is now around 730-8pm.

after tearing out the majority of my plants which were male, I noticed one more yday. Out he went. SOB! :)

So...no I have two plants in the ground, see pic. I am going to hit it with a dose of Fox Farms Grow Big and Big Blossum. I just purchased Tiger Blossum by Fox Farms which I am going to use in conjunctino with Big Bloom on my three mommas that started flowering. I have one other newly sexed female that is in the first pic. Im gowing to continuing hitting her with Grow Big and Big Blossum, and as soon as I see flowering...use Tiger Blossum. Fox Farms makes a good product I think.

I am looking for a little info from the RIU community. Take a look at the weird looking tops on a couple of my budding plants. the leaves are single, not fan, and look shrivelly and weird. Any opinion as to what the hell is going on!??!????

Thanks guys....i look forward to your comments, and any encouragement. This is my first grow, and I am just hoping to be able to harvest a bit of bud to keep and smoke for a while. :joint:

I hope it yields something.
