1st Grow - Journal 01/08/10 (Aeroponics)

I am going with an 3 unit aeroponics system based off stink buds. I read it in High Times and just figured it couldnt be any easier...

So I am prepping the shed out back for the job. Just got done putting the insulation up where there were gaps.

Plan is to have 2 rooms, one for cloning and vegetation and the other room for flowering.

Room #1 - Cloning and Vegetation


Using 2 (40Watt 6500k color temp 3050 lumens) and 2 (40Watt 5000k color temp 2250 lumens) fluorescent bulbs. Pretty sure I will need to heat the shed in these cold winter days so I plan on using a few small propane catalytic heaters.

Cloning Unit


1/2'' PVC Pipe Spraying Unit attached to Eco-396 pump.


Clones I will be getting this weekend hopefully, will post pix once I do. Clones I will use a small amount of Clonex Solution.

Vegetation Unit


1/2'' PVC Pipe Spraying Unit, also attached to a Eco-396 pump.


Havent decided on nutrients yet, but I might go with Stink Buds recomendation of 126ml Cal-Mag Plus, 180ml Liquid Karma and 540ml Pure Blend Pro Vegetative Formula. PH will be set at 6.0 on every unit at every resevoir change and flush and what not.

Room#2

I am still working on insulation on that side of the shed, so I have not put up any mylar yet. Should be done tomorrow. As for the floor, I am thinkin on just linoleum so I dont have to worry about any water spills causing wood rot.

I will add pix of the room when it has a little more dont to it. Being on a budget slows things down.

Room 2:

Used Mylar to make the 4th wall in room 2. Walked in and turned on all the lights outside the room and absolutely no light gets in.

Flowering Unit

Only going to flower 13 on each unit (will build another once i clone the 2nd time). I have 2 shop lights with 4 - 3000K color temp fluorescent. Will be getting a 400W HPS once my clones hit the vegi unit.

Reservoir has holes cut for drainage after watering


Lil Mr's between every hole so roots will be sprayed from both sides


Side with endcap is raised 1 inch so waterflow goes back into the reservoir.

Both rooms have a digital light timer. Vegi/Cloner - 18/6, Flower - 12/12.


Now I am just waiting in my timer for my pumps to run on. Then get clones shortly after. Will Update when i get it goin...
