Hey guys I just took my first clone from my 2 month old baby :)

This is my first clone...using 100% perlite, some rooting hormone:

Did I do a good job? What can I fix? Anything I could have done differently or better?

i believe when you use 100 % perlite it can cause alge to form which then can never be removed from the grow room. I remember reading this never actually had this problem, but maybe its something worth researching.

Next time take more. You can get quite a few off the lower branches of that plant. This way you can be selective on your next grow. Looks good though!

mmm i have it outdoors - in a shady spot. It's only going to be in perlite until it gets some roots in a week...then i will transplant it into a 1 gall with perlite / potting soil / compost.

Is it too small? Does it have too much or too little foilage?

What do you mean "take more".

Make more clones or if I decide to take another clone make it bigger? Take more branch off?

you should have taken a few clones, if that one does not root than you have to wait again.... Take like 5 or 6 at a time off a good healthy plant, that way at least 3-4 will root.

ok, all from different branches near the bottom?

and next time i'm probably going to use almost the whole branch....i dont know why I did what I did...making it only 3'' and all....

haha dont feel bad i swear i did the exact same thing my first time i took clones, i took real small ones from the bottom of the plant ( they still rooted ) but i have noticed the bigger the clone the faster they take root too.

I like making mine short about three inches, that way I get the most new growth I can. If you have a clone thats already six inches tall and mostly stem you aren't using all you space as effectively as possible, but I grow indoors. In a small grow rooms 3 foot by 2 two foot by 7 foot,

i like small clones i dont like cutings from the bottem it seems like the stronger or helther ones closer to the top grow faster i dont know if its true but it shure seems like it. when i take small cuting i can take a lot and still have a lot of leaves on the mom
