what's your budget, maybe go for Canna Flora/Bloom and PK 13/14 it's what I'll be using. a lot of people swear by different brands it really depends what you're after, organic or not, additives or just a base nutrient. How bug is your space man?

Chocolate kush closet grow. 100% CFL. 100% dirt. 100% aluminum foil. Pretty much cheapest possible.

Dissolved MG month feeding sticks for food.

Using 4 long FL bulbs and 2 CFL on top.

Just put them into flower, any suggestions for nutes?

I will replace the two white light bulbs with 2700k ones soon.

I was surprised how busy the plants got when fluorescent is supposed to be weak?

I just hope my big nice one isn't a male, it was planted earlier as a test of my lights before I did the rest. I'm hoping at least 2 of the 5 are female.

I don't have a budget, I will buy anything as long as the return will be worth it. For example if the most expensive one will increase my yield enough, I don't mind buying it. I also don't care about organic or not, just want the best bang for the buck.

I also had a thrips problem on one plant, I washed it with soap (literally, hand washed every leaf). Thinking of alcohol+soap mix if that doesn't work.

Thanks for suggestions so far looking into it.

As for size, I have a standard closet about 7 ft x 3 ft area. It's about 6 foot tall.

you should maybe consider SCROG if you want bang for buck man it creates an even canopy for all top buds to maximise there potential, most nutrients will increase your yield it's just a matter of finding one that's comfortable and easy to use. There are also a lot of other products that can help a plant to reach it's peak such as Cal mag, seaweed extract or superthrive. There are other available products that do the same as these too. Read up on Superthrive if you decide to use it most people use too much and complain it doesn't work or just kill there plants.

I'm thinking of SCROG but I want the plants to get tall to maximize the light use. I think the screen should be put once they are at the height I want?

The SCROG should be placed around a foot off the pots, some people put in on when they are ready, with pvc piping and joints. I will be having my SCROG, when I get it set up, in there from day one as it's advised to start training through the net when the plants reach 2" above, I'll also be doing some LST before I train through the net so my plant's are somewhat ready to be separated. Take the top cola/s out to the sides and have the lower ones grow through the middle and insides this way by the time the tall tops have managed to be weaved into the net and reached the sides the lower branches and bud sites will have reached the net and be even with the sides :) it's all preference, I'm leaving it in so I can ensure the SCROG is properly filled.

I think letting the plants get tall, about 4-5 feet, is the best option for me. I have more vertical space than horizontal.

Yeah man sweet you could put a net or cage around the plants in a cylinder and pull each branch through the sides so they are still all getting equal light essentially a vertical SCROG :) Just a thought.

20130805_123019.jpg I have been preparing the plants for SCROG or some sort of separation. Since I still want them to grow upwards, I LST on the secondary growth and keep the sideways pointing branches under the node as support. I was doing regular LST until I accidentally discovered this method.

With this way, my plants are still growing upwards but I have some control over the shape.
