1st AeroGarden Grow

Hello Everyone,

Well, this is going to be my first grow ever. I have been really enjoying reading everyone's grows, and I finally decided to go ahead and give it a try myself. I live in an apartment, so space is an issue right now, but I don't think I'll have too much of a problem.

Here is a list of the materials I have gotten together:

- 1 AeroGarden Deluxe (included master gardener kit)

- 1 Aquarium Air Pump (with air hose)

- 3 6" Air stones

- 1 4' x 25' Roll Mylar

- 3 Part General Hydroponics Nutes

- 1 24 Hour Timer

Here is a list of materials soon to come:

- 1 150W MH Light Assembly

- 1 250W HPS Light Assembly

- 2 (unknown size as of yet) Grow Tents

- 1 Cloning Setup


So, I still need a few things, but I think I have enough to get started. Money is an important factor in the speed of getting the rest of the materials.

I have 10 Jock Horror Seeds that I ordered 6 days ago from Nirvana. Five of them are germinating at the moment, hopefully they will turn out.

I've included some pictures of my temporary setup. Feel free to comment, scrutinize, or just hang out on my thread. All are welcome, and bong rips are mandatory!

Yeah Man, Thanks! Just checked the seeds, and looks like 4 out of 5 have started to germinate. Only took about a day and a half, so hopefully the fifth one will have started when I get home from work today.

Alright, so I just got home for lunch, checked on the little guys, the fifth one has cracked and the little white shoots are growing like, well, weeds! In conclusion, plants are going to be going in pods as soon as I get off work.

Alright Everyone,

I just moved the little guys to the sponges and put them in their pods. Got the light set for 20/4. PH is somewhere close to 5.8, it's a little vague on the scale. Anyways, no nutes are going to be added for the first two weeks, then only half strength for a bit. That's my last update for the day. I will post more pics when the first signs of seedlings has popped up.

ive never grown,got 2 aeros 1 elite 6 has 3 lights and 1 6 spacesaver(on sale 90 bucks) bought from amsterdam,durban p. and ganja d.lowride auto anyway
they're comin up fast added exta com.flos.just hopin for the best,have 3 plants in dirt 8 in. tall my bro. had bag he called it tire weed,came over border in tire rock hard but gets you a buzz.I believe new product much better,anyway it was reading in here which taught me something.

Sounds like you're set man, any timeframe for the MH/HPS light? or just when you get the money?

I would suggest picking up some y socket adapters and using 26w daylight cfls over the MH for veg.

It's just gonna be when I have the money. The MH was just a thought, not really a set deal. I've been reading a lot about the CFLs, I just hadn't really gotten to the point of deciding yet.

Oh, by the way, I know this has been answered somewhere else, but what is a good temperature for the res?

Ok, so I got a thermometer today, checked the res temperature, and it was off the charts! I was hitting 85 F, which, from what I've read, is not good. So I got a fan and threw it in the room with the Garden. Res temp is now roughly 73. Can anyone tell me if that is good enough, or should I find some way to get it even cooler.

Also, I rePH'd the res again, it moved up a little bit.

I got a little end table for the Garden to sit on and so I could get all my stuff organized so it wouldn't look like a junk drawer.

Would love to hear some comments, maybe some suggestions, or just someone to stop by and take a bong rip with me.

Anyway, hope everyone's havin' a good evening. It's nice here, mid 60's, good smokin' outside weather.

MH isn't worth the money IMO, you can veg under 6x 26w 6500K daylight cfls and thats 9600 lumens (all together like $35-40 including mounting) plus almost no heat compared to HID bulbs.

I think that's what I'm gonna do. I don't really wanna spend the money on the MH, and plus, CFLs are so much easier to come by. Thanks for the advice, It's much appreciated.
