18/6 or 24/0 ?

I just moved my plants indoor and have them running 18/6. They love this increase in light. So I'm wondering, is it advantageous to run them 24/0?

In nature plants never have 24 hours constant daylight. I've vegged under 24/0 and 18/6 and honestly did not see any major increase in growth or maturation.

Saving 6 hours on energy cost is also a plus.

I'm no expert, in fact, I'm just finishing up my first grow, but if I remember right from college biology plants need darkness. My understanding was that they absorb water and sunlight during the day and actually make food out of it at night. I did 18/6 during the growth stage. :)

Yea dude think how many hours a month you are saving compared to the lights always being on 24/7. You'd think the plants would love the extra hours but it doesn't make a difference to them. In my opinion they love the dark and drop in temps.

there both good... 18/6 will show preflowers from seed quicker.. especially if there intially vegged under 24/0

I prefer 18/6 or even 20/4. I find that the plants seem to grow well when they have some darkness everyday.

i agree, in my experience the plants like a little darkness, i usually run 18/6. they seem to do a lot of growing in the dark

one of these days ill get after that 20/4 of blazes, would like to see a comparison with that schedule, since ive never tryed it, but truly i think it would be hard to notice the small differences in 3veg rooms under those different 3 lighting schedules..
