170 CFM Inline Fan and Filter good enough for 1050CFT ?

Alright so I have been looking at fans and filters, and I have my eye on a 170 cfm inline fan with charcoal filter.

My grow room is 10x15.58x7 = 1050cft.

If I divide 1050 by 170 i get 6.17.

So that means the air in my room is circulated every 6.17 minutes. Is that good enough for a 1 plant grow?

by the time you put the filter and some ducting behind that fan.. no its not gonna be enough for a room that big.. thats what a 4 inch fan? I'd be using an 8 inch for a room that big for exhaust and some sorta intake also.

if your room is 10 x 15 x 7 your math is wrong too.. thats 10,050 ish cubic feet.

Negative!

you want the air to circulate at least once every minute. I use a 235 cfm blower for a 3ftW X 5ftL X 4ftT cabinet

Ok thanks for the information, then I assume a 427cfm fan would do it then?

I should also add that This is purely for smell control, The temperature is not an issue for me.

As long as your temp and humidity are ok, a room that big needs very little air exchange for one plant.

If I were going to stuff that room with plants and lights I would want a lot more air exchange as the larger number of plants would use up the Co2 in the room much faster.

The larger the volume of the space and the fewer the plants the less air that must be traded with the outside world for each individual plant to get enough goodies.

This is assuming that the air inside the space is not stagnant, a simple oscillating fan of suitable size inside the room will see to that.

Keep up the good fight my man.

Thanks for the info man.

Yeah, all I have is a 400w hps/mh lamp.
I have a fan circulating the air.
It is a one plant dwc bucket grow.

My grow room doesn't get hotter than 85 F.

So the 170 should be just fine then if it is just for Oder control?

what I mean is, your carbon filter will have a recommended cfm for best odor reduction, i'd suggest finding a fan that matches that. ah nm I see u are looking at matched filters and fans.. nm im stupid :) im sure you will be fine with one plant then with just the small one. Might wanna go bigger tho with a room that size, I bet you will not stay with one plant too long ;)

Yeah, I can't grow more than 1 plant at the moment, I wish I could. My last grow yielded about 6.5 ounces off of one plant.

If you just want to get rid of odour why not try some Ona gel? Using a filter to scrub odours from air in the room doesn't work very well. You might reduce the odour but you will still smell it.

I was looking at that stuff. I am not sure even how you would apply that stuff, or would you just leave the jar open like an air freshener?
