14 day old clone

I am not new to growing, but this is only my second time around with cloning. I have a 14 day old clone, She looks very healthy, but after all this time, there is no root popping out the bottom of the rapid rooter. The last time I cloned it only took about 7 days for this to happen. Any ideas out there?

P.S. I did take this clone from a female plant that was flowering for about 10 days. I am thinking that this might have slowed down the root growth until it changed back to veg cycle.

Are there hairs or calyx's on the clone? How are the leaves?(shiny, rough, light green, etc....)

Is the stem pretty pretty sturdy. I use rapid rootes and I love them but you have to be careful of how wet they get, I did get quite a bit of root rot my first time around. The plants looked fine but eventually they would just rot. I just mist to keep the rapid rooter moist I neve water it or soak it prior to putting clones in.

I do not water it. I just mist the inside of the dome, and I mist the leafs on the clone. and just make sure the rapid rooter is a little moist. So the roots will not dry out.

be sure to put lots of the rooting hormone on the end of the clone, alot comes off when putting it into those Pete moss pellets.

I do use a lot of the rooting hormone. And I will not use Peat Pucks. I am useing Rapid Rooter.

I still think the roots were slowed down, because I took the clone from a plant that was in flowering stage for 10 days. This is what I am wondering, if anyone knows if i am correct or not. please speak up and voice your opinion. :)

I have heard that it can take some time. But I have never taken a clone while in flower. One thing you have going for you is the fact that the clone looks real healthy

Here is what happened. I bought some seeds. I germed them. I had 8 seed sprout, I only had room for 7 in my hydro system. I put one in soil. I grew them for a month. the 7 in hydro were doing very well. the one in soil was like 4" at the very best. I flowered the 7 plants. All but one turned out to be male. And the one female was so a Strong, Vibrent female. She had Huge knuckles at the stems to hold those huge buds and all. I just thought.. Grrr.. I need just one clone at least. I knew it was a bad thing to do. I feel like a Pretitor now.

I always tell people, when they want to snip some buds before they are ready is this. "Step away from the sand box, and nobody getts hurt, would you try to pick a young girls flower before her time?" It is not the same thing i know. But still. before she is ready, is before she is ready.

So anyway, I feel terrible for the dishonor I did to my one and only lady.:wall:
