135w CFL vs cheap 135W LED ufo

Hello everyone

About 1 time a year I have begun to spend time on growing a bit myself as a sparetime hobby for the holidays. Earlier I have just used 2*23w 2700k CFL along with some lowryders.

This year I am stepping a bit up though. I have gotten myself some auto's (polar light #3 from Dutch Passion), and a long with that I had ordered a 105w 2700K bulb from great China. I received the bulb today - A 135w 5500k bulb of course. I paid 9 euro for it so CBA doing anything about it, but that leaves me with an upcoming problem in less than 3 weeks. Since there are limited suppliers with the bulb I have bought I don't feel confident enough to buy a new one and expect a different result.

Instead I have come up with 2 solutions

1: buy a complete 125w 2700k CFL set with reflecter etc for roughly 70 euros
2: Buy a 135W LED UFO for around the same amount:

Which would be best?

A sub question: Would the 135w 5500k be able to make any decent buds since it is a auto strain?

Kind regards

hi
ok autos ..........love them
no that light is not correct not for autos

ok first off u linked me a US supplier ..........so u know euro is worth 1.36 dollars (us money) 70 euros is 95.52 dollars

if at all possible for u to increase the cash u are willing to spend just few euros
http://www.amazon.com/Apollo-Horticulture-GL60LED-Spectrum-Growing/dp/B00FGFW0XO/

this is a full growth light ...............for u it means u just plug it and and let the plant grow under it the whole time .............no need to change lights for flowering since u are a auto ..............i own the 300w model and got me 3 and half ozs off one plant i normally do 4 oz and few grams under a hid

Hey justugh

Thank you very much for your reply.
I have looked on the LED you suggest. I am only growing 1 plant at a time since I don't really smoke much. It is more for that 1 time a year when the guys get together and chill in the holiday. Therefore I find 180W quite much.
Is that needed? I can see the Apollo comes in both a 135w and a 75w edition. My growing area won't be more than maximum around 60x60 cm. Right now it is 30x40 cm.

A second question. Is it possible to get those Apollo LED's or equivalent from a European supplier at a resonable price? To avoid futher taxes this would be the best. The LED which you are linking to is also not shipped for Europe/Denmark.

Kind regards

the light i linked u i picked do to the power of it ................it should get u a plant that u are more then happy with somewhere in the range of 3 (if u got feed dailed in)

if u go a weaker power u will get less results ..........that one in your little area is the Maximum power (infact u will have little over kill) ....see with a CFL u only gte about 5 inchs of depth ............with this LED and the lens they have on it u are looking at 32 inches to 40 inches.......(so basically your whole area is in the goldie locks zone for making huge buds)

as for a supplier in your area i am unsure about it ................and other brands (i will tell u to stay away from the generic light from china .................they sound good but they have a few issuses ........i own a 300w of those too .........it has no power button so u have to take the power plug out when u want to work

the apollo's i know they are fairly cheap compared to the other and the results are nice
here is the info u need
1 u want a full spectrum light ...........(means it is a mix of grow/bloom/ir/uv/white )
2 if the LED has UV light u need a pair of UV protected sunglasses ...........protect eyes for long term
3 the IR lights are outside what we can see so some LED might look off................to test it stick your hand under it it should be warm with in 7 to 10 secs .....the IR is working

i do not know what is on your market over there................my best advice is to check out a few of the Hydro shops in your area ..............if u have a car europe is fair close so might find a good shop just one country over 4 hour trip

Thank you for your respose justugh.

I would have bought the Apollo if I was able to get it shipped. Unfortunately that isn't the case. They only ship inside the US. At least I can't get it delivered to my adress in Europe.

So - I am looking for a LED to buy in EUROPE for around the same pricetag (around the 70-90 euro range).

Can anyone assist me with finding something that will work? And also better than a 135w CFL :)
