120V and 240V?

I just got my 600w M.H-HPS lighting it came with 2 cords one is 120v the other 240 whats the difference? I mean I know more volts but as far as using one or the other does it make a difference?

yes, 240v uses half the amps allowing you to run more stuff on the same circuit. most us homes have 120v service. Only use the cord and setting that corresponds to what type of circuit youre using. If you want to wire a 240v circuit to run more amps, go for it. If youre just using normal US outlets, keep it on the 120v setting with the 120v cord.

yea just use 120 unless youre blowing fuses and have ALOT of other stuff. I use 2 1000w hps lights and a 400w mh and still use standart 120v on seperate circuits. unless you have a few thousand watts of light, 120 is fine.

o yea, as some people think, using 240v and half the amps doesnt save the cost of elec. Either way its the same ammount of WATTS. Watts are what matter according to your elec bill.
