I have been looking for a timer that would allow a 12/20 light cycle and have had little success finding a brand of timer.:-(

I know there have been older posts about this subject but i cant seem to find them now that I am looking.:!:

Anyone with first hand experience using non standard light cycles that have advice would also be helpful.:-P

Thanks in advance all:leaf:

Pretty sure any programmable digital timer can do this, you'd just have to set up 6-7 independent different on/off times

ok, I'll need details as to what process you are actually talking about... Are you saying to modify a timer? Or is it a random tooling set of on off? If so then I believe that would light cycle stress the ladies and cause male bananas which would be very undesirable. I would Like a consistant 12 hours off and 20 hours on. i would just like to know of a timer to do just this, thanks!:hump::joint::weed::spew::hug:

12 off WILL cause the plant to flower.... and 20 hours of darkness will cause a weaker strain to hermie. im not sure how that would work out for you....

Get a Brinks model #44-1040, I think it is programable for up to 6 different light cycles, I think that will do it for you.:weed:

Using a digital timer, do something like this:

Sun 00:00 on 20:00 off
Mon 08:00 on
Tue 04:00 off 16:00 on
etc...

Each day is going to have a different on/off time then the next, obviously there's only 24 hours in a day. Also, at 12/20 your times are going to shift every week, so you'll need different light cycles pre-programmed or you'll need to reset the on/off times accordingly every week. At 12/16 you can keep the same light cycle every week.

Be aware that you cannot do this with a mechanical timer which only allows for 24 hour cycles. Hence why you need a digital timer with different on/off times for each day of the week.
