12/12 from Seed, a few questions.

Hello, and thanks in advance for helping me out! I'll keep it short, sweet, and to the point; so here we go!
  1. With 12/12 from seed, what light spectrum should I use 2700k, or 6500k? Or even both?
  2. If 6500k, do I switch to 2700k at some point, or no?
  3. How long do I grow for? Normally it's veg for a few weeks, and then flower till amber, but with 12/12 just grow until amber?
  4. What can I expect as a yield? I'll be growing Nirvana Papaya (feminized) with Fox Farm Trio as my nutrients.

EDIT: A quick edit to throw in some more info, I'm running 156w worth of CFL (6 x 26w) four above the plant, and one to each side. My grow is in a stealth laundry hamper, I have proper ventilation and all that jazz, temperatures are stable, carbon filter, etc.

Anytime i have done this i have been dissapointed and left wondering why i bothered , yet others get good results , i think luck has alot to do with it!!

i have tried and been disapointed also the yield is not worht the price of the seeds and electric for the grow. but i have seen people on here get decent yields from it. seems like you gotta find the right strain for it

I intend to top in an attempt to get four main colas to increase yield. I saw a thread, I can't seem to find it now, but it's stickied somewhere on the forums where a guy is getting multiple oz's from 12/12 from seed.

EDIT: Would it be better to just veg it until my ScroG screen is full and then just flower it? My grow space is a bitch and a half to work in because of the stealth aspect, that's the only reason I was thinking of going 12/12 from seed. It seems easier to have it quiet during times of the day when people are home that might pry into it.

He's rocking a pretty big NFT set up, 16 plants at a time if I recall correctly. He said his average plant height was about 12" but he had some that were anywhere from 28-32".

Same here but seen it done with great results. I assume your using cfls by your k ratings. Clorophyll a uses Mostly blue spectrums so you should at least have a little 6500k in there in the beginning. soooooo
1 I would do a 2:1 ratio of blue to red until you see sex. Then switch the ratio to red to blue or just all 2700k if you would rather do that although 6500k cfl do give a bit of UVB light and I find it makes my buds frostier. Cant be a bad thing.
2. Yes switch at sight of sex.
3. Depends on the strain. I've grown strains that will start to flower in 2.5 weeks, other that need at least 2 months of veg before they will produce flowers. With your strain being a indica i believe you'll be seeing sex in about 3 - 4 weeks from seed. And you need to flower for 9 - 11 weeks so say 10. So from seed to harvest it will be about 13 - 14 weeks give or take a week.
4.I personally never get more than a oz doing 12 12. More often closer to a half oz a plant. I use cfls and mostly small stature strains.

edit: yea that guy has some good looking 12 12 plants. Dont expect that with your 150 or so watts of cfl. Those are under a 600 W HPS.

Bostoner, the seeds are feminized. What I'll do is have two 2700k and two 6500k uptop and a 6500k on each side. I may just veg it 16/8, top it into 4 main colas and then fill a ScroG screen. Once the screen is about 75% filled I'll go to full 2700k and a 12/12 schedule.

It all depends on the strain, many of which greatly benefit in the yield department with several weeks of 18/6 before flipping.

The best use I have found for 12's from seed method is for sexing b/c they flip back to veg fairly quick.

Just ask Del hes a good guy and pro at the 12/12 from seed. I run 12/12 from seed to but i average 1oz per plant 6-9 plants under a single 150w hps in soil believe he is in coco under a 600w he might have upgraded since the last time i talked to him. But pm him or jump on his thread he is always willing to help out a fellow 12/12er;-)

He has a system he uses and perfected quite nicely, but can only comment on strains he has run...of which I found 8 on that thread.

He has his own that he has breed if you find a good plant to run 12/12 from seed after harvest you reveg and find a male with quick growth then breed them pretty sure thats what he did. But like i said i get 1 oz on average and have gotten up to almost 3oz off a single 12/12 from seed. I can veg 2 plants in my grow box for 3 months and they produce 3 or 4oz but i can run 9 12/12 from seed so i produce twice as much and harvest 1 or 2 every two weeks to a month. I FIM and LST all plants and get multiple colas so wall to wall colas plants top out around 15-20 inches. Last run i threw in a dro and my opinion the best for such a grow is dro or coco soil i only get 1oz and growth is to slow in dirt. This time around will be my last soil grow soon as i get some out of there im running all dro in folgers coffee cans the 48oz red ones i got 3oz off my first plant 12/12 in one and it was by far my best micro plant yet running tap water and super natural.
