I grow alot of herbs, this particular one is my newest undertaking. Can you keep the same plant and just get what you need off of it when you need it??? That is how I use the other cooking herbs that I grow. I have 3 females, I just brought them in form outside into the closet. My chickens where given them hell. They are really thriving in there new home. I have already harvested over an oz. even with the chicken damage. I guess what I am asking is are they annual or perrineial, and if I keep it alive will it keep budding????

No. They are seasonal brother. I think you could go back to 18/6 and then re-bloom them. look into it. good luck
