it is all right, but now they have full spectrum HPS so you can just use one bulb start to finish. ;P good luck and keep on smokin'.

The 3 1000 are going to be for flower. I am going to have T5s for cloning, 600w mH for vegging. I am going to attempt the stinkbud method, for a perpetual grow.

thats ok but 70.00 shipping would buy a nice timer (that one sucks)you could go to a hydro shop with 400.00 bucks and that add and i bet they would put togeter a nice system like that with a better hood and timer. just tell them your not crazy about the hood and timer but your on a 400.oo budget. the hydro shop by me has a nicer ballast for 150, hood 70, timer 18.00.and bulbs 150.00 for both. but if you dont have a shop by you thats not a bad deal.sounds like you have a great plan but i would spend a little extra on the ballasts and go digital.

Thank you everyone, I will try to get a pic of what my local hydro/garden shop offers. Very limited supply and very high prices. +rep to you all for answering and suggestions.

I have that exact kit from the same auction seller. See my grow thread for what two of them look like installed. They work just fine. One arrived with shipping damage that caused a bulb to shatter, but they replaced it within 2 days of me asking them. Very good service.

Sadly, the ballast they supply isnt the best because it causes a lot of RF interference. This caused problems at home with DSL line disconnects, Nutradip Tri-Meter being inaccurate, and no radio stations in the house.

Too much of this interference, and you could affect your NEIGHBORS SERVICE TOO. I'm upgrading from 2x1kw lamps from there to 6 total, but the other 4 will be a better ballast and lamp and reflector setup. I shouldnt have tried to go cheap and save money here, for an extra $100 you can get so much better, and lets face it with 1kw lamps an extra $100 is a good investment for the 2.2 Lbs / 60 days you can achieve with it.

In order to fix the digital ballasts RF Interference, you can wrap it in aluminum foil for the quick fix, and then use a shielded cable (or wrap cable in alumninum foil too).

Please note too, this isnt an "issue" with my ballasts, it's common on most digital ballasts, and I personally confirm with actual experience that THIS one DOES.

I replaced my 4 x 1000w old style ballasts and replaced them wiyh 6 x 600w Quantum dimmable digital ballast in my flower room. No interferance problems and had an increase in yeild. Check out dchydro.com they have low prices, good quality products.
