I would like to know how many plants I should use

I'll be using a 1000 watt hps during flowering in a 5' X 5' by 6.5ft tall tent

-I would like to grow master or bubba kush
-I would like to veg clones for 1 month

also for power concerns I don't want to use a 100 wat MH, so i was thinking compact fluorescent or 600 watt mh i'd perfer to use florescent but once I switch to flowering would switching from a CFL in veg to 1000watt hps in flowering be harmful to the plants?

this is my first post and any help would be greatly appreciated

Kinda like asking how many fish will fit in an aquarium...first I gotta know how big are the fish?

Full grown plants? 4 to 6...Sea of green? as many as you can fit. If your concern is the yield potential, it's more controlled by the 5x5 footprint than the number of plants..

You have to dial in the strains you are growing to get the biggest yield. Some strains yield better as a SOG while others do better as bushes. There are to many variables to say what style of growing would give a better yield.

I grow bigger plants because I have plant limits of 24 flowering in my state. I would still grow bigger plants because I find it's easier to take care of fewer plants and I yeild better when I have no more than 6 plants per light. My average yeild is 20 to 24 oz per light with good temps, humidity and co2. This winter I'll be growing 4 plants per light for a total of 6 lights so I'll see how that goes.

You'll have to experiment to see what does best for you and your strains.
Good luck with your grow.
