What if your grow room cieling had 62,400 lumens of light @ 960 watts. I guess that would be great if you could adjust the heigth of your cieling.
With this less than $200.00 system you can.
My grow room closet dimensions are 2' deep x 5ft' long x 8' high.
I found an 1/8" thick 4' wide x 5' long sheet of aluminum.
making the sides; the length of my closet is 5', I do not want to tamper with the length.
The width measures 4 ft, on the left side I measured 1 ft. toward the center. Fold the aluminum down to a 45 degree angle. do the same to the right side. When finished you should have a 2' flat center, and a 1ft side on each side.
Using a drill bit, I drilled 12 holes on each side about 3 Inches apart. installed the light recepticles and bulbs. 40 watt at 2600 lumens.
I installed a closet rod across the closet and a small pulley system used for window shades.
By building this hood you can build it 1 inch smaller than the inside of your closet. install the lighting you prefer. by raising it as the plants grow, you are guaranteed that 95% of the light goes to your plants. You are not lighting the cieling for no reason. the hoodis blocking the light from lighting above. The hood installed weighs about 20 lbs. and the biggest cost is the bulbs. You can find aluminum sheets at your local scrap yard for about 50cents a lb. I ran one electric cord for each side. and hooked them to seperate breakers. just depends on your breaker box.
This has worked great for me.
Any tips or suggestions I would appreciatte it greatly:dunce:
