10/2 10/2, Has anyone heard of this?

Ok, my friend of a friend who doesn't use the computer just changed his hydro/NFT system to: Lights - 10 hours on 2 hours off, 10 hours on 2 hours off. I haven't ever heard of this, but he maintains that the ladies ( Diesel - 3 weeks veg) like it better, and it keeps the heat down a bit.

Will this mess up the cycle of the plants at all?

I am skeptical myself.

"Ok, my friend of a friend who doesn't use the computer"..... first sentence. This dude is old, doesn't even get out because of bad back. So instead of telling me it's silly, why not tell me "Why" it is silly.

Look, this isn't my system, but if anyone can give me a good reason, I would love to convince my friend to switch it back to 20/4. He's old and stubborn though.

Anyone?
