Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

I used a net and lost a few colas due to worms. However, I made the mistake of jamming my net full of more plants than I intended and this caused several fan leafs to touch the perimeter of the netting, allowing moths to lay eggs where the leafs pushed up against the netting. This was an...

    Hindu Skunk, Outdoors + Organic

Outdoor organic grow. Harvested half on the early side (50/50 clear/cloudy trichs) and other half on the later side (90/10 cloudy/amber). Only smoked early harvest so far. The bud smells super sweet, with hints of Kush and a little skunk. This bud is a C R E E P E R. Takes about 5-10 minutes...

I paid my wife's friend with weed to help and she sends us this pic...

:-? If I’m thinking what I think your saying, then that’s a great way to break off/damage trichomes. The buds should GENTLY be washed, maybe with a slight twist/twirl back and forth, but the buds should not come into contact with the bucket, much less mashed into the bucket like a garden hose...

Oh wow. Yeah I used half a 5g bucket of sugar leaf and slightly bigger leaf and got 1 ounce of top shelf kief and 1/4-1/2 once of low grade kief. The first run was with 160 bag (top shelf) and 2nd run was with 120. The top shelf kief will be further processed into rosin and the lower grade...

Absolutely! The first pull of the material is of course the best. Out of dry sieve, bubble bags or dry ice, dry ice wins hands down. Better flavor and yield than bubble and without the drying process! It takes a whole lot less time and effort than dry sieve or bubble bags too. I take the...

Yep, I take off all fan leaves before washing. Save sugar trim for later and then make dry ice hash out of resulting trim:weed:

Yeah, try it out sometime. I think H2O2 is a bit heavy handed though. I use three 5g buckets: 1st one has 1/4 cup baking soda + 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice, 2nd plain water, 3rd plain water. Here are what the buckets looked like after doing a couple medium sized plants... 1st wash bucket: 2nd...

    Open Show and Tell 2020

Hindu Skunk, outdoors and all organic. Washed before drying and dried for 10 days. Turned out great after all the fires here in Cali!

I washed all of my outdoor harvest this year and I don't regret it one bit! Very clean smoke and with all the ash deposit here in Cali, it was well worth it. That said, I did find two buds that had this exact spiderweb stuff in them. I cut it/picked it out. If your taking the time to properly...

    California Wildfires and resulting smoke

Washing my buds today and you can see the ash and dirt that was on my plants. 1st wash bucket is the worst, followed by 2 rinse buckets that are cleaner. Definitely a good idea folks to wash your buds that have been outside!

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

Another few victims to bud worms. Man, these moths are just hovering around my net at night looking for some way to lay eggs on the slightest pun prick of leaf touching the netting. :wall::weed:

3rd muncher I’ve found. Hopefully the last. Lesson: Don’t let any leaf material touch the netting!

Found a few worms, chop early?

Your assumptions are correct. You need to keep temps below 75F and humidity in the 55-65 range. If you don’t, the weed will just smell like grass and the smoke will be harsh. Been there, done that.

More fires more smoke filled days.

Good to hear. I'm seeing an improvement in sunlight, but still quite hazy here in the East Bay area. 2020 has been a year of realization how much we take numerous things for granted in our day to day life. :eyesmoke:

Found a few worms, chop early?

You will get bud rot where the worms are eating. They have bateria in their saliva and their frass has bacteria in it too. There's a timeline to the progession of rot. You can spray with BT right up to harvest. I'd recommend washing your pot too to get any residual frass out of your gals...

Found a few worms, chop early?

I agree. I'd wait it out. Pick up some BT in the meantime and start spraying..copiously. Remain vigilant about finding the eggs and for looking for poop (frass) and signs of rot. GL!
