What Thumper said. It’s an unecessary step unless the following apply, IMO: 1. You have PM that has affected sugar leaves. A few spot on fans doesn’t require a wash. Also helps to kill any mold spores but unecessary if you’ve dealt with mold accordibgly. 2. You sprayed anything within a few...

He’s got a lot of history behind him and his strains and is also one of few breeders who maintains a consistently solid reputation in the biz. And from what I understand, he’s VERY generous with freebies. Initial pricing seems a bit steep but when you consider the number of freebies and the...

Holding my breath at this point. I had to cut the tops off of 3 plants as the rot was coming on hard. Holding off on the Boo for now. Would like to see those pistils recede and a bit more swelling but with overcast and rain forecasted for the next 4 days, I dunno. Had to cut a few spots on her...

Very interested to see how you make out. I have been eyeballing the CSI gear for awhile but having virtually no info on their site regarding flowering times or what strains are outdoor-compatible has kept me from buying. I am leery of breeder claims these days…I have had mid-September strains...

Same deal here. No sign of mold until the past few days and it started with a vengeance. Had to cut all the big tops off of two plants or they were destined for the trash bin. Still managed to harvest some impressive buds but damn, what they coulda been in a couple of weeks. “Donkey dick” colas...

My Boo still needs a couple weeks as well. I’m gonna let it ride. Only found one spot of mold so I’ll keep an eye on things and hopefully get it to the finish line…just not quite far enough along for me to chop it. As long as the weather holds, I should be ok. Fingers crossed.

I’ve got a Cherry G on the go as well. Just started to find a few spots of mold and PM today so will monitor and hopefully get them all into the harvest window without much loss. Need 2-3 weeks, ideally. Damn, what a stressful time of year!

I’ll second TCH’s feedback for MIRedbuds. Fantastic guy to deal with and has some great seeds to offer.

    Flushing before harvest

So, how does one “flush salts” out of an organic grow in hot soil? Or does flushing not apply here? I have yet to see any science definitively support the practice of flushing. There’s some theories of low probability of positive effects based on limited samples but nothing concrete/extensive...

    CSI humboldt thread

Oct 31st is no bueno around these parts. Max Oct 15th in a good year. It’s the one thing I don’t like about the CSI site…no info on flowering times or which strains are outdoor compatible.

    Flushing before harvest

Trichomes on sugar leaves are not a good indicator of harvest time. A combo of pistils dying back, calyx swelling and bud trichs will tell you when it’s time. Flushing works well for toilets and can actually be detrimental for plants if done too early.

    In House Genetics Thread

Not true. There are lots of good breeders who offer stabilized strains, reasonable prices and customer support. Hell, there’s members on here putting out better gear than Out House. IHG is the epitome of what’s wrong with this industry. Over-hyped, over-priced pollen chucked garbage with zero...

    CSI humboldt thread

408 pages is a lot to peruse for an answer so I’m just gonna skip that part. Looking for strain recommendations for outdoors in the far northeast. It’s the one thing that irks me about the CSI website…there nothing for flowering times or which cultivars are recommended for outdoor grows. Thanks.

Boo update from the far northeast. Weather has been spectacular. Great temps, low humidity, no sign of any mold/PM/bugs. It’ll be a banner year if things hold. Looking like an early-mid October harvest for the Boo. Terps are getting more complex and frost is building. Question….how’s the yield...

Honestly, I wouldn’t change anything. It works well and was cheap/easy to build. Just make sure it’s sloped and overlap your poly so that rain doesn’t run between the layers. Also, mine is hinged at the front corners. I used a couple bolts so it’s easier to put up/take down.

It’s a great strain. I’ve had it in my outdoor grow for 3 years now and it has done well every year. Love the terps.

I went 0 for 3 on the WW as well. The Boo x UJS on the other hand was 6 for 6. They all popped around the 48 hour mark and are growing extremely well. I gifted them all to friends as I had no room and I was helping a couple buddies get into growing. They have been sending me updates/pics. Very...
