    Backside of a CXB3590 cob

For shits & giggles, I decided to wire up a cob and see how it looked. Here's the backside of the cob while running at 0.2A (& 30.8V for ~6W) The LEDs shine thru the ceramic support.

    Diy with arrow

What's going on with the specs for this cob? I can't find a clear reference to that particular chip. The specs only show the cxa3590 as having the Y (for 93+ cri), not the cxb3590?

    DIY with Quantum Boards

Both -A and -AB have the Io adjustment, meaning there's a little dial onboard the drivers' circuit that you can adjust to control the maximum amount of current the driver will output. But this little dial can be fragile and it's not recommended you use it as the primary means of dimming your...

    Still going, cupboard

Finally got around to buying a Sensirion SDC40 CO2 sensor, grafted it to the esp8266 that monitors canopy temp & humidity (with a Sensirion SHT30), futzed around with calibrating it, and recorded a week's worth of data: I'm still having issues calibrating the PID controller that does heat...

Do you have a mammoth mint 8 or HLG scorpion Diablo X? Post here!

Thanks for the vote of confidence but please don't bunch me in with the spectrum specialists. I gotta pick my battles and prefer to stick with knowing plenty about electrical circuits, automation, environmental control, programming, engineering, thermal dynamics, fluid mechanics, etc. :)

    TRUMP INDICTED

Wikipedia has a good entry on it, used to describe how creationists try to bury the conversation under a mountain of bullshit to the point where you just give up, and they claim victory

    Replacement driver

Terpsareforme, do you have a voltmeter with which you could measure the voltage that's being output on one of your lights thats working? This would help narrow down the actual voltage your LEDs need.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Under most normal operations, the voltage an LED requires is determined by the current you're feeding it. Usually led vendors publish specs that list the max voltage required at the max amps that they recommend. In the case of the qb648, the (pretty crappy documentation relative to other specs...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

I happen to be using an XLG-240-h-ab at the moment, it's really versatile when swapping lights to play around with various boards. It looks like two QB288 V2 rspec boards in parallel would settle right around 49.(something)V at 2.4A per board for 120W each. I run 10GA wire from my driver to the...
