    Perfectph recharge solution

I've been very happy with mine. In a recirculating system they make a ton of sense, root interaction increases hydrogen ions and the Torus removes them -- rebalancing the pH. I ran a test last year where I went an entire flower run w/o changing my reservoir. I simply topped off with RO via a...

    Perfectph recharge solution

I have been using the Torus since they came out, and like you I thought I would source the recharge solution myself. I was able to find the proper chemical (I will dig up the name later) -- however just like the resin inside the unit itself I could only find it in industrial quantities. So yes...

    12/1 Ebb & Flow LED

You are not understanding what you are reading. Hours of light does not matter, it's 100% about the DLI. 8 hours of light from a 2000w LED is very different than from a 100w LED -- you need to know the PPFD in order to calculate how many hours of light you should be running. If you can hit...

    Pump to waste?

You can use either a Little Giant condensate pump if you're only talking a bit of runoff, or go with something like a Seaflow Bilge pump w/ integrated float for higher volumes of water. I use a bilge pump, 1100 GPH Seaflow, and it takes care of all of my runoff.

Anyone tried PerfectPH? Automated pH balance would be great...

It works great, been using it well over a year and a half now. You still get to ride the drift from 5.8 to 6.2, and if you start to see it go to 6.3 you know it's time to change the reservoir. It uses ion exchange resins to rebalance the pH and works best in recirculating systems where root...

Make $2200 worth of "Clear Rez" for $4 !!!

Store it in a sealed container. My concentrated solution sits for months on end, just give it a shake and apply. If it cannot offgas there's no issue. The fear I have with direct application is that there's just no room for error. An scale slightly out of calibration can throw things off...

    Sterile rez?

I guess you're sort of right, with UC Roots you pay for 99.9% water and 0.1% hypochlorous acid. With HTH Pool Shock you are paying for Calcium hypochlorite, which when dissolved in water creates a much higher concentration of hypochlorous acid. End result is 100% the same, just you pay...

    Sterile rez?

Pool Shock is literally the exact same thing, except costs $6 to treat nearly a million gallons of water. https://blurtter.com/blurt420/@dwc-marc/uc-roots-vs-hth-super-shock-it-treatment

    Sterile rez?

I make up a gallon solution (1 gram per gallon) of pool shock, then dose the reservoir. I used to measure it, now I just dump it in.

    PerfectPH gives away free device

Totally. Mine lasts this long because I doubled the size I needed for my system. I run a recirculating system, pH drift is part of life once the plants get big enough. Now that I run perpetual I always have at least one or two big girls feeding heavy from the reservoir. Larry and I looked...

    PerfectPH gives away free device

Agreed. I'm not a fan of their website either. Too many people think this is "new technology" or that they are selling snake oil. People don't realize that waste-water treatment plants have been using these resins to maintain pH for decades. The science behind this is totally sound, but they...

    PerfectPH gives away free device

I've been using one of these in my flower room reservoir for over a year and a half now. I've documented every part of my grow live on Twitch including pH data (samples taken every 5 minutes from the Bluelab Guardian Connect). So far the only time I've been out of the 5.8 - 6.2 range is if I...

First time making Bubble Hash - 74G total yield!

Nice! I have my RO unit in the flower room where my water source is located. From there I run the water out of the room and into my reservoir chamber where I have the little manifold breaking it into 3 separate runs, each with their own ball valve. The 3 items that use water (humidifier, ice...

    Bleach instead of H2o2

Lots of ways to handle this for sure. Personally I like HTH Pool Shock, a $6 bag will treat thousands of gallons of water. Even with my chiller I prefer to run sterile, it's eliminated any problems I used to run into. And unlike bleach the shock is calcium hypochlorite not sodium...

First time making Bubble Hash - 74G total yield!

You're reading it right, but misunderstanding what it's doing. All that tank does on the outlet side is hold a volume of water, it doesn't increase the pressure beyond what the RO system is producing, so it won't solve the issue of low pressure. The only way to increase the pressure into that...

First time making Bubble Hash - 74G total yield!

My RO just runs direct to the ice machine. My ice maker complained at first but once it filled the internal reservoir the RO speed didn't matter. Which ice maker did you get? I do run an Aquatec 8800 with a 2.5 gallon accumulator on the inlet side since I don't have enough water pressure for...

    25# of Jack's 5-12-26 for $57 with free shipping

I love GrowGreen and miss living close to them. Thankfully they do deliveries to the UP once a week so I can still get my goods. :) I've stopped adjusting the 321 ratio at all. I've found that as long as I keep my pool shock treatments up there is plenty of extra calcium available and I...

    RDWC Questions

In your environment that works, great, but that is very atypical of DWC in general. Everything is fine, until it's not. How do you combat lockouts if you don't pH or change the res? How does the pH stay steady while the plants are absorbing ions from the water, especially if it's not being...
