Nitrogen/magnesium/calcium deficiency and what im planning to do

That's what happened in the two grows (on another forum)-started out watering poorly and changed how they water but it was too late. :-(

Nitrogen/magnesium/calcium deficiency and what im planning to do

I appreciate your comment. I misread your RH readings (a vision issue) and thought your RH was 76 to 78. " maintaining a decent vpd. " With RH at 70±, your VPD is great. Apologies for the confusion. I think that's the right approach. If a grower can't get a grow to "800 to 1000µmol, strain...

Nitrogen/magnesium/calcium deficiency and what im planning to do

It's clear that there's a nutrient issue but I don't see anything that indicates that there's excess light. When a plan receives excess light, the leaves closest to the light source show the most sever reaction and, as you move away from the light source, the reaction to light levels falls off...

    What this heck is this?

I don't recall the title of the video but, in one of the videos where the guest is a long time grower and his perspective was that they don't get concerned as long as an issue is impacting <20% of the plant. Of course experience ≠ expertise but it was an interesting anecdote. The proprietor...

    What this heck is this?

It's a nutrient imbalance which is a symptom of insufficient nutrient availability and/or insufficient nutrient uptake. Easiest one to eliminate is the uptake piece - what are the temperature, RH, how many fans/wind speed, what light are you using, hang height, dimmer switch, and schedule. Big...

Ah, thanks for the explanation. The grow's looking great. Keep up the good work!

    Pix That Make You LOL-Warning-SNWS

Doubtful that he'd keep track but, over the years since then, I wonder how many times he regretted his actions.

    Too late to save?

I'd drop my light level to about 40k. Out of interest, how are you measuring light?

First ever grow, dwc, succeed, fail.. what ever it will entail

Yes. I've found the yield estimates from seed vendors to be accurate/conservative. Typical values are 400-600gm/sq meter which is roughly 1 pound from 9 square feet of grow space and it's assumed that the canopy fills the grow space. You've got a tent that's 1 sq meter± and a canopy that...

    Changing LED mid grow.

The new light has a dimmer but you won't be using if for this grow. :-) "4th grow….maybe 5th." - appreciate the info. I was thinking "How does a newbie grow an amazing canopy like that!". Even though you're bringing in the new light about ⅓ through the grow, you'll get a good boost from it...

    Changing LED mid grow.

The XS 1550 Pro will let you feed your plants well. <bias> I'm a high light grower - 1kµmol by day 30, autos and photos at 80mol until flip. Photos at 1100µmol ± and autos at 70-80DLI until chop. I adopted that practice after my third grow (2022) based on the fact that the yield of a cannabis...

First ever grow, dwc, succeed, fail.. what ever it will entail

Your grow looks excellent. Lots of light? Check. Even canopy? Check. Fills the grow area? Check Unless you step on your d*ck really badly between now and harvest, your crop should be in the 500gm range. Though is used in jest, RIU has a tradition that, when a grower asks "How much do you...

    Changing LED mid grow.

Until recently, the standard approach to growing involved using one light in veg and then switching to an HPS light in flower. What's your current DLI?

First ever grow, dwc, succeed, fail.. what ever it will entail

As much as I like to keep everything dress right dress, the reality of the situation is that the grow is doing well. So, yeh, there's that reality thing creeping in. :-)

First ever grow, dwc, succeed, fail.. what ever it will entail

I'm with @futurebanjo re. simplicity. I did a few grows with Botanicare and then switched to Jacks 3-2-1 which is a dry fert. That's a Part A + Part B formula, similar to other companies that sell dry ferts, but with Jack's you add Epsom. Simple is nice.

950µmol? Congrats on feeding your plants well. It shows. "And pH is 7.1 give or take" - why so high? (or did you already explain it and I didn't catch it 'cause I haven't read the whole thread?) Even with the discrepancies noted by document at this link, 7.1 is very high for hydro. I've run...

Can’t figure out what’s going on with her?

It looks like you have burn + perhaps an imbalance which is availability and/or an uptake issue. If you post info re. VPD values, temperature, humidity, wind, res maintenance processes, light levels or light model+hang height+dimmer settings+light schedule, water info, etc.

My first grow, problems during flowering. Will it be able to finish?

If you're interested in reviewing that, I'll be happy to provide a second opinion. As much as the symptoms of too much light are easy to spot, it seems that a lot of growers, when looking at a plant that is having issues, gratuitously toss in the "you might want to turn the light down". That's...
