too low ph = nitrogen burn ???

Hi all.. thanks to some help in another forum here I have learned hydro ph should run between 5.8 -6.2. (Reservoir's had been ph'ed at 5.5 - 5.7.) So, does 'too low' ph tend to create nitrogen burn? The curling/twisting and yellowing/crispy leaves? Because of osmosis water (and the...

    ROCKWOOL care

I noticed on a tutorial (fim'ing/cloning) pic that rockwool plastic was still on. Is it supposed to be left on (temporarily or forever) to shoot roots down -or for some other purpose? I've been removing them right from the start.

How should ppm/ph levels behave in hydroponics?

Thank you Snaps and Sable for your input. I'm getting ready to supplement with Cal-Mag due to several yellow clones and it is calling for a ph of 6.2 - 7. I'd post a picture but haven't figured out how to do that without a card reader. I've read that RO water tends to require supplement and...

How should ppm/ph levels behave in hydroponics?

5.5 - 5.7 has been the goal but I've since read that RO water often needs higher ph (5.8 - 6.2) to uptake necessary nutes. Do you agree?

How should ppm/ph levels behave in hydroponics?

Is it normal for both to fluctuate? If so, why? If not, why not? PPM is fluctuating between 700 - 900 (checked daily) and ph seems to climb daily (requiring ph down every single day).

Purple (red) stems and bright purple/green leaves

Hope this is where I post for help. I have leaf stems that are purple/red and leaves that are unusually green (rich blue purple). While I seems indicative of cal-mag deficiency (leaves are twisting) I'm curious what else my cause this.
