i don't know how to post a link but there is a thread in this forum named tds,ppm,and ec that might help you. I'm trying to learn how to control my nutes and I got a pen from amazon that measures EC, TDS(ppm), and temp for about $50. IMO EC is better to work with. hope this helped PJ

the plants were about 40" tall so I cut the main stalk into short sections and I noticed the center of them looked like a straw. I realize that the water containing the plant's nutes moves thru it to deliver food to the entire plant but I thought it would be thru a fiberous like material, kind...

What unit of measurement do people use to measure their EC ? uS/cm or mS/cm?
