IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!

Hey pet flora Correct me if I'm wrong but are you using one or more of the BML bars as side lighting? My question is, do they put off noticeable heat? Because they look about perfect for side lighting really. I've been building my own rigged up aide lighting fixtures and have not liked the...

I don't know if neem oil kills thrips or not. But neem is my go to for most problems. After a few days I will mist with plain water to rinse the been off after it has begun to naturally break down. I also have an ozone generator I use in emergency situations or between grows for sterilization...

There are a lot of factors involved that change that number for your grow. Strain, starting ppm of water, and nutrient brand and additives. I started with general hydro and yeah my veg was 500 ish and my flower was around 700 ish and that worked best for that. Now I'm using botanicare with many...

New RW-150 or 2 Hans Panels?

Yeah they carried the all white model for maybe 2-3 months. I ordered 4 right when they came out. Pre ordered actually. After that I wanted more but they only had the red white so I waited for the 190's. When I say I have 7 A51's (and about 24 Cree bulbs) that is over 3 good size flower units a...

New RW-150 or 2 Hans Panels?

I own 1 SGS_160 red white 4 SGS-160 all white and 2 cha-190s and even though many have answered I'd lean towards the two RW-75s. By the numbers that should match a single 150 with nettle canopy control and possibly better coverage. I run 3 flower units with 2 all white either 160s or 190s over...

Thanks for the info man. I just picked up a bunch of the 2700k 75w replacement Cree bulbs for my first attempt at side lighting. Though now I know someone has done T5 with no venting and had success so it's still an option. I only bought enough Cree bulbs for 1 out of 3 units to see if I notice...

I run a CO2 generator and use a few wall mounted fans to circulate air. I'm also using 2 6 inch fans with carbon filters to circulate air between my veg and flower sides of the room. I use panda film as a barrier between sides. My CO2 generator is outside of the room and is water cooled. I did...

    my 3 stages of flower

I don't believe SS1 has ever posted plans for his modified system. But that's fine. I myself glanced at stinks 2 rail design and modified it to fit my space and style. I think the biggest difference between SS1 and Stinks are the level of nutrients used. Same nutrients at just a much lower ppm...

Petflora thanks for the input. With my house situation a sealed room works best for me. Currently my air temps never get above 80 and drop to 71 with lights out. My last few grows have done quite well under the A-51's with a sealed room. I do use a fair amount of fans to circulate the air within...

    my 3 stages of flower

Hey SS1 don't mean to bug you or ask anything stupid. But, I've been using your system for a little while now but with general hydro. I just changed over to botanicare and what to make sure I have your feed schedule correct. I'm using the exact schedule from page 7 I think, except I am using...

Thanks for the input Gaius, I am running a completely sealed room with Co2 and no venting, just a lot of recirculation of the air that's in there. Heat is currently not an issue yet, but obviously it could become an issue so I'm going to avoid the HO's. I didn't even think about COB flood lights...

I stalk these forums regularly and now own 7 a-51 panels. 5-160 + 2-190 and love them. But I'm looking into side lighting options and am interested in some input. I am currently running 3 flower units that are about 3'*4' with 14 inches between units and 14 inches between walls. Each 3*4 has 2...

MC for your size area and a quality light I'd lean toward the SGS 160 from area51lighting. It's coverage is just a touch more than what your tent is, so perfect imo. I have one I'm using over 3 plants myself and it's phenomenal, I've since ordered 4 more. With that in mind I've heard wonderful...

    my 3 stages of flower

Well after getting through the entire thread I had one more question, for oceangrean, back on page like 40-50ish you said something about starting seeds in a system just like the cloned but smaller using crumpled up paper towels. I was wondering how that's working for you, are you still doing it...

    my 3 stages of flower

Thankyou very much. I was thinking that line of thought but figured asking the experts first wouldn't hurt. And having the pipe the corners, same theory I guess keeps it out of the way. Ty and Ty. I already have a cloned put together I've been using for my DWC system and now I can finally...

I just ordered 4 lights from A51 about a week maybe 6 days ago. Jeff responded within 2 days of my first email and on the day of purchase there were 4-5 emails between the 2 of us in the same day. Last one containing my invoice. So over all I'd say I had no issues with emailing them.

    my 3 stages of flower

I've read through the first 150+ pages of stinkbud's thread skipped to the end saw soil grows and got confused. I then found this thread and started reading it backwards. So I've read the first 20 and last 80 pages here trying to make sure I've read every quirk. Early on in this thread I notice...

    When to put under SGS160

I slipped mine under the SGS the same time I started giving them nutes, about 3-4th set of leaves. And I had the light at 24" and let them come to it thenkept is 20" all of veg.

    I just don't get LED's....Someone enlighten me

I only have a partial answer for you on question #1 and that's because electric costs vary by location. For me on electric alone my SGS theoretically paid for itself in just over a year. This doesn't factor in that many growers using traditional lighting exchange their bulbs 6-12 month intervals...

I'm incredibly biased but I'd go with the 4 A51 lights. I already have the Red and White SGS and I can't believe what this thing can do for only 120/155 draw. I've got an area almost just like yours. 7.5 x 4 and I'm considering 4 for that (of the white). If all that white light is your issue...
