Do CFL's lose their intensity as they age? I have a 2700k bulb that I have been using for a desk light for about a year now. Do you think the bulb would still be sufficient to grow with?
Yeah I may have exaggerated a bit, but you should never remove all of a plants leaves, even if you know it wont kill it. It sounds very counter-intuitive to the whole idea of growing a plant.
Ok. My plants looked exactly like yours when they were that age. I had exactly the same environmental conditions as well. Here's what I think is going on:
You said it takes eight hours for the soil to dry out after a watering. I believe this is the problem. When your plants get watered...
That would almost certainly kill your plant. edit: in the condition it is currently in.
Your plants don't care about their bottom leaves, they want their top leaves to be the center of attention.
The plant seems top heavy because it is reacting to the deficiency of light by stretching upward...
Compact Flourescent lights should be placed only a few inches from the plant. Again I can't tell for sure but it looks like they are a foot away. I actually have mine less than two inches from the top of each branch on my plants. They wont burn; just make sure you have a good breeze going on...
Disclaimer: I've only done one grow so I'm pretty new at this.
Maybe your plants want to be watered since the last time you watered was two days ago. You may not be overwatering, but could you be underwatering? Does water come out of the drainage holes after you pour it in?
Another potential...
I started my first grow about 6 weeks ago. The following is what I have going right now:
Location - 5x5x8 (lengthXwidthXheight) closet
Lights - 2 26w 6500k CFL's with reflectors, 2 long florescent tubes
Medium - soil-less mix (1:1:1 peat moss, vermiculite, perlite)
Nutrition - General...
I have a seedling that is turning yellow. It is about 2 1/2 weeks old. It looks like the leaves bleached from too much light, but I am only using CFL's. Will this happen from under watering? The peat/perlite/vermiculite soil mix dries out very quickly. I have to water at LEAST every other...
First post here on rollitup.com!
I just purchased a bag of Orchid Plus Water Soluble Orchid Food by Better Gro. NPK is 20-14-13. It also says there is only Nitrate Nitrogen and not Urea. Does this sound like a good vegetative stage fertilizer for my "soil-less mix" plants? (it also has...
