Getting close to choosing LED..Need educated opinions

Interesting...but I really don't think I have a dark spot. I have 2 of the CLW 200W AND a cheap chinese TaoTronics in there. I would say that it's a little overkill if anything. That's 3 lamps in a 3x3!!! Are you saying that ONE Area51 is a better option in a 3x3? I havent used the A51 though I...

Getting close to choosing LED..Need educated opinions

Have you considered California Light Works? American, cheaper than the A51...5 watt diodes. Nice penetration. I have two of the 200 watt Solar Flare (one bloom booster and one full spectrum) and they are better than my old 600w hps in a 3x3. I also have one of those cheap Taotronics 240 in there...

thanks bouncin b! i forgot to mention the spider mites. I've tried and tried. From Azamax to Dr Doom to predator mites and ladybugs!!!! Nothing seemed to keep them at bay for more than a few weeks. I still battle. I spray a few times during veg and only once in very early flower. I bleach out my...

My last update...and what I've learned since I started this post: 1 Thanks to all those who chipped in with their advice--I'm using that uncle ben cropping technique...and those girls are about to be flowered!!! I am also using perlite and keeping the soil aerated...and the growth rate seems to...

    Led Users Unite!

I have a 200w Solar Flare (full cycle) and a 200w Solar Flare Bloom Booster and I love them. They are in a 3x3x7 tent along w a TaoTronics 240. The 5W diodes have penetrated the canopy better than the 600W HID I was using ever did. Bottom nugs are dense and frosty whereas I used to just chop...

    Overall Look vs Trichomes

Plants look really great. Leaves look healthy and the plant doesnt look starved. I wouldnt feed it any more nutes if you want to give it just another week. U could always feed it some molasses. It's not a nutrient, but it may help the plant digest any nutes still in the soil and add a sweet...

always great to harvest a plant. looks like a little less than an ounce, but really chunky buds. This is Aurora Indica and the first plant to be harvested after switching to LEDs. I'm happy

yes, the canopy is pretty dense. I do remove a majority of the fan leaves after 30 days of flower. hopefully, those 5w LEDs are good at penetrating it. I'm also thinking about going hyrdo to increase yield, get rid of the bugs...but I'm just now getting this system dialed in. Plus, with the...

thanks for the feedback. I actually did buy some perlite..and I'm using smart pots. made some clones, too. to conserve space in the closet, I replaced the bulb in the ceiling w a cfl, placed a sturdy piece of cardboard on top of my 3x3x6.5 flower tent. they seem happy enough.

Thanks for the response! What do you mean aerate the soil? I water the plants by just picking up the pot and going by weight. I no longer have heat issues, though I did when I was using HIDs. I actually feed less often under the leds as compared to the HIDs. It's been trial and error...some...

    how much is light enough?

Howdy! I have a 3x3x7 flower tent with 8 plants in 3 gallon smart pots w a 200W CLW Solar Flare (Full Cycle) and a 200W CLW Solar Flare (Bloom Booster). I have another flower tent 2x4x5 with TWO G8 240 W LED and ONE Taotronics 240W. 6 Plants in 3gall smartpots. Is that enough light? I had...

But what I about Lights? Im not too happy with the size of the buds so far, so I bought more LED's. I have a California Lightworks 200W Full Cycle AND the G8 200w in the 3x3...and I just ordered ANOTHER CLW 200W Bloom Booster...all for a 3x3 space w 9 plants in 3 gallon smart pots, In the...

Thanks for the response. my yields were pretty good with the 600w...any issues I had w yield were due to heat, spider mites...and small pots. Now I'm using smart pots, have no heat issues and given less heat, I have been able to defeat the mites (so far) What I am really asking is if a solar...

I bought another light...a taotronics 240 w led. a cheap one. using it in the veg tent...which will be a 2nd flower room once these girls get bigger. I figure that G8 240 led and the taotronics together will be strong enough to flower the 2x4. I am also using smart pots...have to find pans to...
