Allthough......if the plants were thriving a week ago on the same water source.....which is distilled water....it seemed to me that ph wasnt the cause......they were growing like crazy in the distilled water with half nutes.......then bam....dying.....Any idea what the slime in the pot is from

those were beautiful vibrant plants a week ago and they just dying......Ive used a TDS meter and made sure that the PPM was going down and not concentrating so I didnt think they could get burned as long as the nute concentration is going down every day and not increasing?????

Not sure if its that critical but my buddy let the water get low enough for at least 24 hours that the roots were exposed to air....just below those cups.....like maybe 3/4 of an inch.

Not sure what this is.....using half the recommended nutes just to be safe cause their small still And what is that slime in the plug there?????

I am considering an auto flower strain for a 3 foot tall stealth grow box......is it necessary to switch over to 12 hour lighting during flowering or can you just leave lighting on 24/7 like when your vegging a plant......and do you have to switch over to red/hps bulbs or can you just continue...

well thanks for all the replies....my buddy obviously has some reading to do but getting replies about a problem always reinforces what you read....during my first grow no matter how much i read i always had just as many questions as answers.....experience is key but in the mean time it's nice...

say you start with distilled water with a ph of 7.0.....when you add nutes it will drop the ph....the more nutes the lower the ph.....so after you add nutes to your water then you check ph and adjust accordingly....most likely you will have to add "PH UP" solution to raise the ph to 6.5
