I'm definitely gonna go with your experience and try to train them. So I should tape a string to each branch that looks like it will be a top and cut all the small growth at the bottom of the plants (which I will also use to try and clone). Is that right? Sorry if I sound like I'm asking dumb...

Thanks for all the info! It sounds a bit daunting being a newb but I may just try that. I have also considered just letting them kinda grow somewhat naturally the first time just to get a feel of the growth cycle a little more. You think I should attempt your method?

I've been trying to top them. I think I'm doing it right. I believe I see some new tops starting. I will take some close-ups and maybe you can tell me if I'm doing it right. And please give me a little more info on how I should train them.

I just got a sweet setup now. Got a 6 " fan vent, digital ballast, and a metal halide bulb for some more veggin. Looking good!!!

I hope I just topped it right... I watched a pretty great tutorial but my plant didn't look the same. I only topped the Purple Kush (which is on the right in the pic of them both) because the Green Crack looks like it has two tops already. Or should I top it as well?

Ok, thanks! I'm gonna top em 2day and let em veg for a couple more weeks. So it wouldn't hurt to hook up the 600 for veggin too then eh? And is there a recommended method of supercropping?

Thanks maineyankee! I just checked into LST. I think they may be a little too far along to do that- the stem may break. They don't need to be short and bushy necessarily. I'm going to buy a 600 watt High Pressure Sodium bulb & ballast today and I may start flowering soon idk.
