    Rapitest Soil test: Won't the PH of the water added to the soil screw up the test?

    So I wanted to test the potting soil I have, but the soil tests I have found around here tell you to add one part soil, to 3 parts water, well DUH won't the PH of the water greatly affect the outcome of the "soil" test?     Topsoil as in: stuff you find yourself outside? Same question with sand? Oh, also, when you are figuring your percents, are you refering to weight or volume? Thanks again
