3'x4'6"x1'6" Box With CFLs Help Heat

So I've been monitoring (basically watching the clock change) for the last hour keeping an eye on the temp in the box, by the feel of it (and I'll get a thermostat in the mail soon, it's en route) it's about 8-85 in there, so hopefully that's okay for a few days, I'm mostly worried about my cfls...

    Cfl lights

You don't necessarily have to switch bulbs but the 2700k (soft white) bulbs do encourage bud growth more than 5000k and 6500k, I'd recommend either swapping out 4-6 of those bulbs or adding a bunch of 2700k bulbs to your current set up. They really are much better, the reasoning behind it is...

3'x4'6"x1'6" Box With CFLs Help Heat

Let me start by declaring that I'm an immense noob, long time smoker, first time grower, and I'm relatively handy I've worked in the trades for a year and a half now so I don't consider myself completely handy-inept anymore, just a background. Okay here goes: I just finished all my wiring and...

    Just lst My Plant! (Pics)

Looks healthy to me! As long as the plant starts growing upward again you'll be okay, and when she gets too tall again and gets in her own way (for light), give her another LST tiedown. You did a good job my friend.

My Motivation Fem Hermied at 7 Weeks Flowering?

Primarily as far as I've researched (which admittedly isn't far, I'm still new) plants hermie because of soil pH. Grab some litmus paper and give it a test, you may have to bring your pH down (make it more basic, not so acidic) in future plants if you don't want this to happen. As far as harvest...

    Carbon Filtration

Hey guys I'm going to be growing out of a 4ft tall by 3ft wide by 2ft deep box (a converted dresser chest of drawers, I know, super sneaky)and I am going to run 2 4"ducts an in, and an out, the out will be carbon filtered to remove odour in the flowering stage. I have two questions. First...

    Tutorial to Growing with Cfl's

Awesome post man, +rep. very good information, I'm building my first box, it'll have 4-6 hanging CFL's probably 65w's each, and I'll be using both 6500k and 2700k, more 6500k for veg and more 2700k for flowering, I'm thinking 70/30 then 30/70. Gotta get to work this dresser isn't going to...

    DIY CFL Fixture

Stick to that limit because it's set by the manufacturer based on the amount of heat the fixture can sustain, and as a grower you'll be stretching the limits of that heat especially during the veg when you're keeping lights on for 18 hours or even more at a time.

    Lighting Questions

Perfect thanks Nitro! I'll just ask for them at a local hardware store, and hopefully the guy I'm buying them from knows whether they can support a 105w (which i'm sure they can) CFL.

    Lighting Questions

That is the kind I want though, i want one that plugs right into the wall, (North American plugs) because I hate wiring it all myself, makes me nervous of a fire, and I don't live alone so a fire would really suck.

    Lighting Questions

But isn't the one you posted an E40? The bulbs (which I'm still deciding on, you're right more smaller bulbs could be a better set up for getting light all around the plant, instead of LSTing the hell out of it over and over again) I was thinking of using were listed as Medium E26 socket bulbs...

    Lighting Questions

Hey guys, I'm new to growing but I've been doing my homework, and some seemingly stupid questions still just refuse to be answered. So I'm making a box out of a dresser (cutting the faces of the drawers off and re-attaching them so it's very stealthy furniture) and I'm wiring the inside for 2...
