From the blurry pic It looks more dense than PM, have those leaves been wet while you were watering, hard water can leave spots on bottom leaves like that if water has dried on them. Any thing like this showing on the middle or top leaves?

Yeah that's what I should have done from the start (see pic 4), I've had luck in the past using rockwoool cubes like this, but I guess Rapid Rooters are different.

split? like there is a gap in between the split? can you see through the middle of the split ? sounds crazy or im just to high to understand, give pics it sounds interesting. Ive seen a dip in the top of the leaf stems before but wouldn't call it a split.

The second picture with the curl/twisting fan leaf looks like it could be a heat issue or watering issue. I think your spot on with the MG deficiency on the other pic.
