the first and third option say the same thing. 1000 watts should be plenty for a four by four area. i use 600's for 3foot 6 by 3 foot 6 areas,
with very good results.it would be difficult to cover two trays without a light mover.
i ran a 600 hps in a room a bit smaller than that(3'4"x 4'x6'), so a 400 would work with a little venting. I ran two 6" inline fans (home depot) one inake, one exhaust. I did mount my ballast outside the room.
not an electrician, but not a good idea. something is going to get hot, the ballast or the wiring to your house (read fire hazard). with electrical, if you are not sure dont do it.
what are the temps in the store room? put your light in there with a min/max thermometer and close the door. at least youll know what temps you're dealing with.
lengthy, how big is the room, how many plants? venting three stories up, gonna need a good fan. can u just vent the clean air back into your residence?filtering the incoming air is a good idea.more info = more replies.
