Is it ready to harvest yet? (I have a picture)

Its been 10 weeks. Is it ready yet? I just found out that my water ph is 8.7 so this may be why it is taking so long.

all my fan leaves turned yellow and died. I'm in week 4 going on 5

I think I have been under watering. So that helps a lot. Hopefully next time I will have some more equipment and less variables.

all my fan leaves turned yellow and died. I'm in week 4 going on 5

Just started week 5 of bloom. Fox farm three part. I just did a full 2 Tbs of both veg and flower nutes a week ago.

all my fan leaves turned yellow and died. I'm in week 4 going on 5

About two weeks ago, my fan leaves started turning yellow. Not from the tips exactly just yellowing in general. I hoped I just hadn't been feeding enough N so I gave them a nice big dose about a week ago. The buds are still a nice gark green but the further you get away from them the more yellow...

600w or 400w for 2x4x7 tent. Flowering only

So my main question is will there be problems with the 600 hps. I'm pretty sure I can sufficiently vent the heat, its only like 5 bucks a month more, and I want to upgrade someday so I really have my heart set on the 600w. Is this way overkill or will I see benefits as well as problems.

do photons loose energy as they travel through air or do they just get spread out?

ah science. so what are your theories on physics tym? (unrelated to this discussion please, I think i got everything I could out of it)

do photons loose energy as they travel through air or do they just get spread out?

Thanks everybody. I know this was confusing and as gobby say 'academic' but I don't think anything is entirely non useful. Your right this will not really effect my grow but things like this help you make analogies and who knows what crazy grow tech will come in the future.

do photons loose energy as they travel through air or do they just get spread out?

I still don't understand as well as I would like. Tym, your answer was still very helpful, thanks. I think making an equation for this would require some nasty calculus but I looked at it pretty much like you did. The majority of the(lost/indirect) light would bounce less than 4 times.

do photons loose energy as they travel through air or do they just get spread out?

This leads to my next question. It is impossible to answer but I want guesses. If I put my 400w hps at the top of my 2x4x7 Mylar grow tent and measured the lux at the bottom, (6 feet away say) what would be the loss compared to any other distance say 3,2, and 1 feet away respectively? I realize...

do photons loose energy as they travel through air or do they just get spread out?

So the reason that you want to put lights as close as possible to your plants is that the light will spread out, and not because traveling through air reduces the energy contained in light. Is this correct? In other words, the relationship between light intensity(lux) and distance would be the...

    Light Reflection

Has anyone actually placed a light meter say 3 feet from a hid in open space and then done the same thing in a 2x2(or any small) Mylar tent? Just curious based on what you all know about the light plants use, would this even reveal anything?

    Light Reflection

what do people mean by penetration? is it just that after a certain distance the light is to diffuse to do a good job or is it that certain wavelengths only travel so far before they are absorbed by the air?

    Light Reflection

This is somewhat a science question and a horticulture question rolled up in one. I have a 2x4x7 Mylar grow tent. This tent supposedly reflects 95% of light. Now it seams like this would have a huge effect on how much usable light my plants receive but I just posted a similar thread (I guess it...

Does Mylar actually reflect 95% of light? when they say this do they mean 95% of the energy of each photon or 95% of the photons are reflected? is UV reflected by Mylar? does uv diminish by traveling through air? sorry for all the questions. thanks in advance

Hey mindphuk. I was reading your comments on a light forum and was wondering if you could help me out. I think I have a pretty good physics understanding of light but not a great horticultural one. As far as I understand, light intensity diminishes because it comes from a point source so the...

Distance from HID light in a 95% reflective Mylar tent

I guess even that wouldn't really help because the light meter can't detect all 180 degrees
