ok when im looking at every ones plants there seems to be lots of leafs. The plants i have are about 2 1/2 feet but only have like 6 sets of leafs could this be because i need to start blooming them. i started growing them in november.

I know this may seem like a pointless noobish question, but is it ok if the dirt around the plants, on the top layer of the soil is hard as a rock, well not as like a rock, but when i poke it i can bearly get my finger in 1/2 inch is this bad, will the roots be strong enough to get through...
